I'm 65 years old. There are a handful of songs that take me back to a time and a place when I first heard them being played on the radio. Angie takes me back to 1974 when I was a sophomore in high school. The memories from 49 years ago are alive, fresh and vivid. Thanks for the memories.
This song took my back somewhere, even right when it came out. It’s haunting. I love it, still. I’m 64, too. The 70’s were a time like no other. Not the 60s, not like the 80s. Those years were were for me - for us, the best of times. I’m pretty sure I didn’t realize it back then. Ohh, to be a kid again…. ❤❤❤✌🏻
Heard this song long ago, I was probably 20 or 21, on a radio, at work, in St Petersburg, Russia. I loved it so much. I thought "If I ever have a daughter I will name her Angie". It was strange thought because we don't have name like this in Russia. We only have Angela. Then, in 10 years later I moved to US, got married and had a daughter, her name is Angela but everybody call her Angie. She is 20 y.o. now. She loves Rolling Stones and this song..
I brought a sweet beautiful baby girl into the world in June of 1987 and named her after this song. Life can be so bittersweet , we have to endure the bitter , the stumbles , all the crosses we must bear as humans in order to gain clarity and strength to fully embrace the sweet.
Were you named after the witch and nemesis of Barnabus Collins in "Dark Shadows"? It was on every afternoon around the time you were born. Her name was "Angelique" also. She was a very beautiful woman with an evil heart.
Had not listened to this on headphones in a long time, it gave me shivers & makes your heart melt, it’s a masterpiece, Jaggers vocal is gorgeous. Thanks for posting.
I just did that myself, after not doing so in over 40 years. Perfection all around. Damn we were lucky to have grown up at a time when this kind of magic was being made.
O my stars!💫💫- so, I did that too finally, soooo great great! If I had Rod Stewart's new scotch " Wolfies", it would have been 🥰 perfect! Silverboots, you rock!!!🎶🎶
My best friend growing up was named Angie and hated this song when it 1st came out. I thought she was crazy… ha! I’d have loved to have such beauty written for or about, me. Gorgeous song… 💗💗💗
I am not a big Stones guy. I sometimes like Satisfaction, maybe one or two others. But having discovered this…it is phenomenal. Whole new Respect for this band.
This was played at my grandma's funeral because she was such a huge rolling stones fan, even with tatoo of their logo. I never cry when hearing music, but when I listen to this I can't help myself.
Seen em 9 times. First 1969 in Baltimore, last Oct 2021 in Tampa. No one else like them. Never been disappointed by a show. I remember my neighbor's older sister had a party, and we younger boys watching and hearing Under My Thumb and Let's Spend the Night Together. My favorite band ever since.
Please, please bring rock and roll/ blues, etc. back. Such talent and song writing skills that mean something. No other words or no other music would fit these older songs.
A nice song sometimes brings tears to an old English teacher, especially when he was taught English from the scratch at his favourite school. In England.
My beloved Fatger is dying as I wrote this. This was one of his favorite songs. Dad I love you go in peace see are all w you as is God in his spirit I’m going to miss you you made me who I am I appreciate all you’ve done for me I can’t get taje this RN GOD OMG
I am 17 years old, i became a huge fan of the stones around 14. Like at the point of being obsessed and addicted to them, when i first heard of Angie, it changed the way how i view music.
Only two songs ever made me feel like I was listening to angels. This and Joe Cocker's version of "With a little help from my friends". I was serving in the Greek Navy back in the day when, while surfing the MW frequencies for "illegal" also known as amateur pirate radio stations, I first heard it.
This song is masterpiece for me. I' ve been listening it for 50 years. Try to listen carefully Mick Taylor's guitar intro and how Nicky Hopkins played piano and violins as background. Mick Jagger sang a song magically.
Timeless Stones classic. Cant believe its 50 years since this masterpiece was released. One of my favourite records. England produced great bands those days.
Maybe it will work for me. Pardon me while I put it on a continuous loop. Even if time does not start moving backward, I've got some great listening to look forward to.
♥️THE ROLLING STONES: GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME ♥️ BRIAN & BILL 👑 Kings NEVER Die I still own my two albums because of the song 'Angie'! I'll always remember the NJ concert when Journey referred to themselves as "the greatest Rock Band in The World, I NEVER listened to them again!!!
In 1975 my best friend Pat Haley & I went to the Cotton Bowl to see the Stones, Eagles, Trapeze, Montrose with Sammy Hager. Pat died in a small plane in 1983 at 24.. Angie was my go to song at Pizza Inn juke box 1973 GOD BLESS

Music is art. No hay palabras para describir lo que puede hacer sentir esta canción. La letra es tan precisa, el mismo nombre ya es preciso, los sucesos lo que expresa cada frase. Cada vez que dice Angie se siente el dolor.
When I was a kid, our family ran the roads, with weekend treks from our home in Easton PA to visit friends and family in West Virginia, New Hampshire, Long Island and beyond.... in addition to our regular jaunts to the Jersey shore and Rehoboth Beach for sun 'n' surf, or up to our weekend cabin in the Poconos for canoeing, fishing and tearing up back trails on our dirt bikes. My permanent perch was the back "rumble seat" of our big blue '72 Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon, shared with my dopey, but stinkin' cute little brother Brady. For some reason, I always remember the ride back home, usually late at night, with the older kids napping in the middle seat and Brady curled up next to me, with great songs like this, favored by the late-nite DJs, coming out of the speakers. Mom would slide across the front seat and put her head on Dad's shoulder as he put his arm around her. Life was good...
This song is one of their best and one of my favorites. My best friend who died in 2021 loved this one. Always reminds me of her singing along to it. Mick's vocals are perfect.

In my top 5 songs of all time … absolutely beautiful (and, not a bad video)!!! I never was a Stones fan, until this song. Now … I love them, and everything they did before this song!
This song was always playing on the jukebox when I was at Bath university. Brings back very happy memories of experiences and friends, some of whom have sadly passed but this song is legionnairy. Brings back memories both positive and negative but absolutely superb.
This really is a fantastic recording. I love that they kept Mick's bleed through vocals from the demo in the final cut. They add to the song's haunting feel.
Thank you so much for uploading the lyrics to this song. This is one of my absolute favorite songs by the Rolling Stones, and of all time. The instrumentals in this song are so magnificent, it's just of this world. They really nailed it with this one. I love the tone of the song, and Mick's voice is so sincere, and the lyrics, what a masterpiece. Timeless. 😍👍🎵

My sister named her oldest daughter Angela because of this song, too ♡♡♡ I think it's sweet
In America Angie is short for Angela. Beautiful name.
Truly blessed my man...
Another Angela (Angie) here. ❤ this song.
I'm 25 and I swear I'm gonna call my daughter (if I'm lucky to have one) Angie or Angela because of this song. Wish me luck 🙌🙌

THE ROLLING STONES FOR EVER. YOU ARE THE REAL THING IN THIS WORLD.
This song is not within the usual style of this band. It’s of absolute beauty. Pulls on emotional strings.
Claim "usual style" and you are WRONG.
See Gomper, for just one of MANY.

Extraordinary song so sweet and deep without any rhethoric and full of sentimental vibe. Keith Richards masterpiece, great...
From the same record that gave us one of the best songs they ever did. That song is of course. Heartbreaker.
