I’ve had the same plant, which at this point I’ve propagated probably close to 50 times, for over 10 years! It was a gift from my mother in law and I’ve been afraid to let it die 😂 the original plant rarely gets super leafy but the ‘vine’ is almost as thick as two pencils and when it does sprout it goes big time and then I propagate. I haven’t transplanted in years because it was literally growing into the ceramic owl it’s in. I always knew it was holding on longer than it should but didn’t realize it was an ancient being at this point.
I got my purple plant about a month ago and very surprised at the amount of growth in that short time, really fast. I didn't know it flowered, I got it because it really feels like velvet
Short and precise. Thanks. I love purple passion and I've killed a few in my lifetime. I purchased a none yesterday and decided it's not going to go down like that. At least not so easily. Thanks so much for your information Give thanks for TH-cam also. So much information at our fingertips.
I just purchased a tiny 2 in pot of this plant . I haven't seen them in the big box stores in a while. I managed to save a piece from a previous purchase about a year ago. It is about 3 feet long and I'm scared to cut it right now. I got the 2in to fill it in and have some insurance for after I propagate. The super long vine look really cool.
I have been clipping away and trying to propagate soon after I got it- dont know if I would recommend doing that but so far so good- I have even been able to give some away. I did water propagation and the roots appear fairly quickly (and it was fall time).
@@plantpractitioner847 I've never seen one pictured as long as mines. It's actually taller than me. I found more at any nursery. I will eventually cut it but it looks cool stretched up vertically. The nodes are very visible now in the newer growth so it wants to be cut I believe.
I don't know if I'm the only person on earth but I recently purchased a pewwny tiny purple passion plant about a month ago and repotted it right after, fast forward to today it seems like it hasn't grown a lick but on the flipside it's not dead. It's as if I stunted it's growth. I'm stumped.
"If you like it, get it, you'll figure it out" - that's exactly how I grew to love plants more and more over the years!
Mintakah ❤️

What happens if the leave touches the soil?
Great question-they tend to wilt, get soggy, and die
Ants love these plant too! I have one that I have repotted twice in a month cause ants keep making it home😕
This is so true!!
why the leaves of mine are dark brown ?
