MAD TV have so many great classics, you have to check out Coach Hines and Taco Bell, Keegan Michael Key plays great characters in both! I think Coach Hines is the best character he's ever played actually, it's just so damn funny and spot on.

SNL has had it's moments though.. especially when Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd were on the show.. and later Chris Farley. (and others up through to modern days, I don't want to get into trying to list all of the shining moments) But it has run so long that it has a ton of mediocre to terrible content that drowns out the good. So it's unfair to compare. Mad TV and In Living Color both shined brightly but were short lived so the good parts over shadow the bad. What I mean is, I feel like, had Mad TV or In Living Color ran nearly as long as SNL, then those shows could be remembered poorly as well. There are a lot of gems in SNL history, including guest host monologues. It is unfair to discount all of that.
