الدهان يستعمل مادة زيتية باستمرار ولكن الفنان لتشكيلي يستعمل الألوان الزيتية كما يستعمل الألوان الطباشيرية والألوان المائية . صباغ اقرب من دهان الى المعنى المقصود .
