I've lived in both the north and the south too and yes, it's so different. In the north, you can be packed full of snow and can't even get a snow day. In the south, less than an inch and the whole town's closed down. Also, down south they will be saying "down yonder" and "go down to the square". I had to get used to these types of things.

He is talking about his home town in Pennsylvania. EVERY state is like that when you leave the cities and go to their smaller towns.
