I might "run against the grain" here, but in my mind, putting a large implement on a small tractor like that borderlines on abuse. Granted, I push my machines to their limits regularly including my sub-compact tractor. However, I would never attempt something like that. Yes the tractors are strong no matter what color they are, but they are speced out for a reason. In my opinion, putting an implement on a tractor that exceeds specs is just asking for a pre-mature failure.

Yeah like I mentioned in the video, I wouldn’t do it everyday. It wouldn’t last too long

The subcompacts can do amazing things. I used to maintain a 78 acre ranch in Missouri for several years with a Mahindra 2015, 20 hp. I used a 5 ft brush hog to cut the pasture twice a year. One year I even mowed some fescue with the brush hog, raked it with a small hay rake, and baled a couple hundred bales of hay using an old New Holland square baler. When I first tried baling I started out going slow, that didn't work too well. I found out the faster I could go the better it baled. 21:15 21:15

Good Evening Sir, with that same tractor I'm able to do things you wont believe ( Pulling my 7000 lbs 30 feet long RV Trailer ) 560 hrs of Pure FUN and Hard Working 👍💪👌😇Cheers 🍻

I did the same experiment with a 6ft cutter and my Mahindra max24 i had and it worked just fine and would lift it to full hight. I was impressed. I took everything off that cutter and built a 5ft cutter and ran that and was great fit. People will say those subcompacts cant do anything but they can and then some. I miss that little tractor. I shouldn't have sold it. It was too handy for its size.

Since my Cub Cadet Sc2400 is a 23hp Yanmar in yellow paint. I have a 5 foot brush cutter that works ok. It does pull hard in tall 3-4 foot grass.

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
That little tractor did pretty darn good Hank. Would you do that all the time, no. My look at it is it is almost to much for it. Would be hard on the tractor systems to do it all the time. But yes with some caution it can do it.
Was interesting to see what it did with the bush hog.
Thanks Hank for doing this experiment.

My little Bobcat CT221 is just about the same tractor. 21hp with 17 at the PTO. I run a 5 foot bushhog, a 54 inch bucket, a 5ft tiller, the box blade. It always surprises me. If the grass is tall, I slow down a bit and lift the back of the mower a tad. It runs through 4 ft tall grass and weeds pretty well that way. In fact I'm going out to cut 4 acres for a guy tomorrow morning. I have to keep that radiator screen really clean or it runs too hot especially in the summer. As easily as it runs the 5ft, I have no boibt it would run the 6ft too but probably not in really thick stuff.

They make 4ft bush hogs specifically for these tractors. 4ft tillers too. Unless you just got an insane deal on the 5ft implements, why not just run the smaller ones and run in spec? I have a CT1025 btw, 25hp w/19hp at the pto. For me, it's worth making a few extra passes and not risk damaging the pto.

My brother in law used our old Ford 1920 to bushhog 4-5' tall hay on a mountain side. I always said it would blow it up. It didn't blow the engine but it did ruin the clutch, synchronizer and put much wear on the engine / whole unit. Now he bought a new tractor and I'm left with the worn tractor. Don't over run your equipment

Impressive! I think the back wheel on the rotary cutter should have been dropped lower. It would have given you better steering ability.

  • @gibblespascack1418
    @gibblespascack1418 ปีที่แล้ว

This is probably something that you would not want to do very often. The tractor is not scaled to pick up or drive that size piece of equipment. I would save it for your real tractor or add the right sized cutter for the tractor. Luckily it is only short grass.

At around the 7:40 mark, you start lifting the implement. At that point, look at the amount that you unload the front suspension. Just me, but with that much weight shift I would be afraid to drive this very far. Some weight in the bucket might help.

It'll do it. I ran a 10 foot mower with an IH 240. It wasn't fast but it'll do it, nor would I do it on any serious inclines. But it'll do it

The phrase ‘In Like Flynn’ means that you have been quickly and / or emphatically successful, usually in a romantic context.
Example of Use: “How was your date with Sue?” Answer: “I was in like Flynn.”

I'm running a1025r and the idea of running a 4' bush hog seems like a half measure. Thinking a 5' rotary cutter may be good compromise with a load of dirt in the bucket for counterweight. It should handle all but the thickest tall stuff even if running a little slower.

I've thought of getting a JD compact but big enought to do the same thing on a 6ft cutter. But I'm in high hill country. So I think a 3 series frame with a minimum of 35 ish Hp is needed. I wonder how long the hydrostatic will hold up? I'd only use the large cutter in an emergency. Nise effort. Another attachment would be a rear sickle mower.

Sure it'll run it, but not very well if you want it to do what it was designed for LOL. For light duty mowing, it'll work. You run out of lift capacity and PTO horsepower pretty quick on these little tractors.
Just because the paper says it can lift something doesn't mean it really can in the real world without proper ballast. Tractor needs a front weight bracket and several suitcase weights. I think power wise it'll do the job, you just don't have enough weight on the front end of the tractor. Typical of small tractors, you run out of traction long before you run out of power.

So what makes you so " impressed" with this little tractor? And how will this video change peoples minds about not having enough power? lol....U need all small implements. Your mower looks like you need 50-60hp to get any bush or high grass cut down with it. Lifting with the little tractor is probably limited to less the 1000lbs. I think it would be good as snow removal and or market gardening....As a retired farmer, I don't see much other use for it. peace. @@hhamilton1970

First of all, you should learn how to type. Secondly, calling that a “riding mower” makes you appear extremely ignorant and childish.
