      It took 3 50 minute lectures for my professor to essentially explain what you have explained in one 15-minute video. And I go to a relatively well-renowned public university in the US. Luckily I don't have to pay for my tuition :) Thank you so much for explaining!

    Sir, in an interview I was asked on what principle the ligands are arranged in a spectrochemical series. I answered about it is according to the splitting of d orbital. The professor said it a consequence, tell me the reason why.
    Please tell me why?

      I believe this is related to the character of the ligand being pi accepting or pi donating. Pi donors are weak field ligands and pi acceptors are strong field ligands.

    why t2g are non bonding

      They don't have good sigma overlap with the ligand orbitals.
