Worldwide Cyclery I actually had the stamp 2 alloy pedals, but switched to the Stamp 1 composite pedals to save about 100g weight ;) They function the same and feel no different out on the trail to me. One just weighs less than the other! I think composite pedals are a good place to shave a little weight if that type of thing matters to you.
I've had chesters for about two years now and they've held up beautifully through many rock strikes and crashes. Some of the pins are bent slightly but I've done literally nothing to them since installation and they work just as well as day one.
Had Chesters on my old bike...although they had been really good I sold them with the bike and now I´m a proud owner of a pair of oneup pedals - those are just phenomenal
I have a Stamp 1 because they're lightest from all that - the grip is stable and considerably better then on ordinary pedals without pins. Sealed bearing here located near the center and play more significant role comparing to pedals where it is located on one external edge. Good construction and product !
I have tried RF Chesters, Chromag Synth, Deity Compound, and One Up Composites. One Up is hands down my favorite . They just provide more grip than the others. Chesters would be second on my list and the Dietys would be last. I wasn't impressed with them and never really felt like foot stayed put as good as it did on the One Ups or the Chesters.
I love my new Crank Bros Stamp Large. I switched from Chesters and the Stamps really give me more of a solid, more confident foot base. Chesters are great, but these are better for me. 👍🏻
MILTONATOR I think you’ll like them. To me, as soon as I started peddling they just felt comfortable. The Chesters I was running were stable and are fine, but I was always trying to get my foot in position. The Stamps are wide, so anywhere I place my foot feels good. I still position my feet, I just don’t have to get them in the exact position every time. I hope that makes sense. 🤷🏼♂️
The Middle Aged Masher That seems legit man...I was considering the FlyPedal platform adapter for my CrankBros smarty...but uncertain if they offer treaded pins...would be great if it worked out...If not grabbing the Stamp1
Literally looking at flat pedal now... On point for content guys!! Comes across how much u love what u do in your videos!! Keep them coming.. Pity there is no Worldwide Cyclery in the UK... How about a video about converting from 11 speed to 12.. Explaining the free hubs, drivers etc..
Composite is made of 2 non steel material for explain resin and carbon fiber is a composite but you can use rubber and plastic . . . I use RF chesters on DH bike and they work like a charm
When I bought my new bike, the shop threw in a set of the Stamp 1’s. I figured they’d be decent but the bump the axle runs through is huge. Makes for a super convex pedal, combine that with the relatively small pins and it wasn’t for me. Kona Wah Wah 2’s and the Oneup AL pedals on my bikes and they’re legit.
Couldn’t agree more. My old DMR V12s were knackered so got Stamp 1 large. Tried mine twice in the wet in Scotland and just dangerous. Got a great deal on some DMR Vault magnesium and normal service resumed.
Thanks. Do you have a recommendation on short, rounded pins? I am looking for short ROUNDED pins, the less skin shredding capability the better. The axle-bump does concern me, on the other hand some arch contact on high-power-push-portion would be healthier on the arch, so maybe pure flat is best. I am actually fine with stock pedals and just want larger front-to-back surface.
Not true about composite pedals breaking when your bike falls off a roof...I had a Mongoose BMX with Crank Bros Stamp Smalls on it and when it fell off the roof the bike turned into an EVIL Offering with Stamp Larges. Crazy bra....
Hello. What pedal do you recommend with the shortest and/or ROUNDEST pins. I am fine with stock specialized pedals, just want to increase the surface area front-to-back (toe-towards-heel) and don't need sharp leg meat shredders. I am considering the Race Ride pedals, but they go too far on the roundness.
@@jaguarreal9116 I would go with the MSW thump with the molded pins not the replaceable pins. They used to sold as iSSi branded but they've changed branding, still the same good pedal. And LBS would be able to order them, also available from WWC part number is PD1117. If you gave a bike shop that same part number they'd be able to look it up.
I just put deity v2 pedals on my marlin 6 and they make your bike feel so much better than the stock ones.more room for your feet and very grippy. They are also much smoother than the stock pedal and they look amazing as well.
I like my OneUp composites but they are convex instead of concave. Almost all aluminum pedals are convex for a reason and sometimes I feel like they just don't grip as well especially when I'm hitting rough stuff.
So far I've broken the one up and crank brother stamp composites... the one up blew up when i landed from a really big hip transfer in the bowl .. I landed smooth aswell. The crank brothers I'll give the benefit of doubt, I was trying a bearskin to tail whip and got the tail whip half way around before ejecting the bike to the concrete where it blew up. This was about a 6 foot smack to concrete... if the pedal hadn't broke the crank might have? So this might be a blessing in disguise as cranks are a lot more $ then composite pedals + crank bros comes with a 5 year warranty and are the lightest composites id run. I had the large and it felt great, lots of room to shimmy your foot around and adjust as need but your not hella locked in like the one up pedals. Way better for a dj bike, the one ups are suited to a dh or enduro set up I'd say and have a way different feeling like your foot has a high point and it wrapped around the pedal... don't know if im a fan needed more time but it only broke in 2 days of riding so i was like fuck that and got the crank bros to have the same demise in a different fashion... curious about deity compound or race face chester pedals.
I got the crank bro stamp 1 and didn’t find them grippy enough, the center ridge is almost as high as the pins , i even find them uncomfortable when using thinner sole shoes like vans . I switched to one up and they are awesome, it almost feels like im clipped in .
I have a specialized pitch comp and it comes with these black really thick plastic pedals. The studs or spikes on the pedals are also made of plastic and they are wearing out. Do u suggest I purchase one of these pedals?
I was just deciding between getting pins for my wah wah 2s or getting the stamp 1 large. One angle showed that hump over the spindle and that helped me decide. Sticking with the wah wah 2.
Bought Chester's a month ago and did five rides. Scuffed a few roots, not many rocks here in Georgia. Noticed today a pin sheared off taking about an inch of composite off plus another pin bent over. I'm 65, no jumps or rock gardens. I've used spd's over 20 years, never wore a pair out. Composite durable?? Hmmm
Fookers are far from garbage. Thousands out there running them for years w no problems. I have an aluminum set and the Chester knock offs, great pedals.
Hey im a size 10 -10.5 and have a thin foot. with my 510 shoes. i have ridden chesters. you think the smalls will be too small ? cus im leaning towards those. large just look huge :D
What is a good (minimum 100mm front-to-back prefer 105 plus) pedal that has rounded tops? Molded even better. In other words, what MTB pedal has a good surface area (toe-to-heel), that has the minimum skin shredding capability? I'm fine with stock pedals on my MTB, just want a larger surface area (front-to-back) that is only a slight or no improvement on grip of a stock pedal. I am tempted on the Race Ride Pedal (but those go a little too far on the rounded stubs and something in between would be awesome).
VP Components VP539 Nylon Sealed Platform Pedals. Cheap as chips and are brilliant...just pop the reflectors out with a screwdriver. So cheap you can put another set on every season lol Don't tell anyone else it's a well kept secret.
Snowboard bindings are usually made out of this material, its plastic with glass fiber mixed into it. And there they are subject to pretty great forces. As pedals I guess they are practically indestructible.
Does the One Up center axel sit higher than the outter edges? Seems like your foot would slide around on it. And two pins next to center do not look tall at all?
I've cracked off a piece from a pair of chesters by smacking them on the ground on a bottom out. a friend of mine had the body break right off the spindle.
had some composite ryfe sasquatch pedals on my flat bar road bike, the pedal axle on one sheared in half after 5000 klm riding, one minute i was standing on pedals climbing a rise, then next i was laying crumped on the bitumen, ouch, cracked ribs plus, yet the composite part was ok
No Mrs. Fields??? WTH Jeff?!! Cool comparo video. I have Chesters and the OneUp, I think the Chester grip better, but I like the size of the OneUp more. Something about the Oneup convex shape feels odd to me, Chesters feel more natural. Stamp 1's look cool, but that large bump in the middle looks like it might interfere with the pins grip, have you had any issues?
Still waiting for my Chester's to die... Been two winter's so far and they are going strong. Not as much grip as my DMR Vaults, but it doesn't seem to matter.
What about Nukeproof Neutron Evo? Seems pretty solid and has great reviews. Bought them a while ago and they seem solid, although I only have Shimano and BBB(trash) to compare with...
I have the Crank Bros Stamp 1 small and the OneUp. I got the small Stamp because I have a 9-9.5 shoe and it was lighter but I find it way too small in actual use. The OneUp feels way better and has way more grip.
Hey Jeff! Great video, I have fallen in love with the Vault DMR but crank brothers offering a small option is huge and I’d love to face off mine and their smalls in a head to head battle as most of us ladies have small feet! Let me know if you’d be interested in collaborating on that video?! It would be fun to bring you in on Skype or something! Love your stuff!
Composite fancy name for plastic...... Actually there's fibers of Kevlar or fiberglass mixed in with the plastic to give it extra strength. I was going to buy a set of Race Face Chester but ended up with the aluminum ones instead. I think the plastic or composite is really the way to go they absorb the hits better and they don't get ugly as quick because their color all the way through but there's nothing like a good looking anodized pedal though. By the way what do you think of the xpedo gfx pedal I think it has the best of both worlds for a Shimano clipless guy like me. Shimano style compatible clip and the flat pedal of the Crank brothers DH. Also great videos as usual
The angle on them also deflect off the ground if you have pedal strikes. I have them and love em. No more going over the bars when my pedal hits something
Which pedals would you choose? Let us know!
I use OneUp composite :)
I know they’re a little over $50 but Kona Wah Wah are worth mentioning for people looking for a bigger pedal.
XTR clipless :)
I have Stamp 7 and Stamp 2 aluminum pedals.
The overlapping sweatshirt graphic and zipper combination is a visual paradox, like an M. C. Escher painting.
I love plastic pedals, you can scratch them to death and they stay the same colour.
I have Chesters, and they give me peace of mind when on rocky technical terrain, I dont need to worry about smacking petals.
I've had chesters for about two years now and they've held up beautifully through many rock strikes and crashes. Some of the pins are bent slightly but I've done literally nothing to them since installation and they work just as well as day one.

Pedals are cool and all, but can we just take a sec to appreciate that the Seinfeld intro is back?!
ITS BACK BABY! But for how long is the question...
Ride the Chester on my hardtail, but the Crankbrothers looks really interesting 💪🏻
I love my new Crank Bros Stamp Large. I switched from Chesters and the Stamps really give me more of a solid, more confident foot base. Chesters are great, but these are better for me. 👍🏻
Newbie MTB was thinking of doing the same. I saw that the crankbrothers are wider.
Blake Beyett they definitely feel more stable to me.
Newbie MTB I’m due for a new set...been running OneUp but now considering the Stamps
MILTONATOR I think you’ll like them. To me, as soon as I started peddling they just felt comfortable. The Chesters I was running were stable and are fine, but I was always trying to get my foot in position. The Stamps are wide, so anywhere I place my foot feels good. Newbie MTB Clear as mud 😁👍🏽
Chester’s for flats. Xt trail for clipless.
Good video. And the crank bros Pedals sparked my interest
The Middle Aged Masher That seems legit man...I was considering the FlyPedal platform adapter for my CrankBros smarty...but uncertain if they offer treaded pins...would be great if it worked out...If not grabbing the Stamp1
I love the 1 up pedals. They are so freakin durable.
Been running the OneUps on both my bikes and I abolutely love them.
Using OneUP Comp about a year and they are great
You guys are killing it with the videos!
Composite is made of 2 non steel material
for explain resin and carbon fiber is a composite
but you can use rubber and plastic

I use RF chesters on DH bike and they work like a charm
Currently using RF Chester in the blue color to go with the blue accents on my ride
I have the ht composite flat pedals and they grip awesome!
Thanks for this post, I was concerned about that large hump on the Stamp 1, you've confirmed my suspicions that it interferes with grip.
Couldn’t agree more. My old DMR V12s were knackered so got Stamp 1 large. Tried mine twice in the wet in Scotland and just dangerous. Got a great deal on some DMR Vault magnesium and normal service resumed.
How can they recommend the stamp as the best...18months on from this video and I hope wwc will even admit these pedals are junk.
Thanks. Do you have a recommendation on short, rounded pins? I am looking for short ROUNDED pins, the less skin shredding capability the better. Any opinions on the stamp? Hearing they’re suffering from a raised center and poor grip because of it
Literally today, I received my green Chesters for my hardtail.
Should have compared the pedal sizes side by side.
I'd love to see a tutorial on how to change the bearings in the Chester.
I love my Deity based pedals from Performance Bikes(RIP).
I’ve been riding Chester’s for about 3 years very durable pedal love them!
Just switched to stamp 1 large from nukeproof and got them in today. Only rode around the yard but love the big platform
Nice presentation Jeff, still not going BACK to flat pedals.
The shop I work at sells Chester pedals all the time. All my co-workers have a set. They're my recommendation.
Hello. What pedal do you recommend with the shortest and/or ROUNDEST pins. The fixation gates slim is also a good option. PD8912 same easy available from your local bike shop
I run aluminum one up pedals on all my bikes.
Worldwide Cyclery I am getting some crankbrothers stamp 1's, this video was fantastic!
I've been using Odyssey Twisted PC and JCPC for years, but I bought Chesters and alloy Stamps for my next bike
Great idea, cheaper, and better! So glad to see this. Great success. Thank goodness for the bike industry, and their innovation.
Excellent vid gents! I am running Crank Bros Stamp 11 pedals because my sugar moma bought them for me :)
I've got black Chester's and the work great!
I just put deity v2 pedals on my marlin 6 and they make your bike feel so much better than the stock ones.more room for your feet and very grippy. They are also much smoother than the stock pedal and they look amazing as well.

Kona wah wah 2’s are great!!
I use both the Chester’s and 1ups. I think I like the 1ups a bit more. Larger platform for my size 13. Interested in trying the large stamp though.
Which pedal lasts longer? ball bearing, sealed bearing or DU bearing?
So far I've broken the one up and crank brother stamp composites... the one up blew up when i landed from a really big hip transfer in the bowl .. I landed smooth aswell. Got some Kona Wah Wah 2's recently and I love them. The main reason is it doesn't have the bump in the spindle which most have which gives hotspots.
Race Face Atlas on my fatbike. Chesters on my Dyno D-Tour BMX bike.
I got the crank bro stamp 1 and didn’t find them grippy enough, the center ridge is almost as high as the pins , i even find them uncomfortable when using thinner sole shoes like vans . I switched to one up and they are awesome, it almost feels like im clipped in .
Both my bikes - Azonic Flat Irons...pricey, but NO problems. Super thin and light.
I have a specialized pitch comp and it comes with these black really thick plastic pedals. The studs or spikes on the pedals are also made of plastic and they are wearing out. Do u suggest I purchase one of these pedals?
I like the race face pedals and not because there light weight They just work good for me
I was just deciding between getting pins for my wah wah 2s or getting the stamp 1 large. One angle showed that hump over the spindle and that helped me decide. Sticking with the wah wah 2.
Worldwide Cyclery are the One Up too big for a 8.5 feet? Thanks
I was going to buy L composite stamp 1 but ended up getting the stamp 7 for $50 more (a tad heavier but much better quality and thinner)
Nice Stance socks and total rebel wearing them on the opposite feet! :-)
Bought Chester's a month ago and did five rides. Scuffed a few roots, not many rocks here in Georgia.

I bought the stamp one pedal, to only get a bearing to go out. They lasted since October of 2019, only to have to send back to get fixed.
Hi.
if you had to choose between the crank brothers or the oneup from the video?
I just picked up a set of Fooker pedals and can't really tell them apart from the Chesters at half the price
Jimmy Radloff MTB I was going to get them but a friend told me they snapped when he hit a rock
Seth's bike hacks literally today just made a video explaining why those fooker pedals are garbage. Be careful riding on them man.
Fookers are far from garbage. Thousands out there running them for years w no problems. I have an aluminum set and the Chester knock offs, great pedals.
@@Chris_dolmeth link??
I may need to check out that large Stamp? I have a chester knockoff and I love it but I have a wide foot so the Large stamp is very intriguing to me.

Maybe a dumb question, but are those pedal prices on a per pedal basis or price for the pair??
Snowboard bindings are usually made out of this material, its plastic with glass fiber mixed into it. And there they are subject to pretty great forces. As pedals I guess they are practically indestructible.
I absolutely demolished a bontrager composite last week on a rock.
I have tortured my orange Deitys for a couple of years now. Holding up great and had the best price.
Kona Wah Wah 2 for size 11 and bigger feet
The Stamps are legit! OneUp pedals are great as well.
Is composite and nylon the same?
I have size 10 us regular width and the large stamp are to wide. BTW how can you call the OneUp heavy when it's only 1g more than the Chesters.
Does the One Up center axel sit higher than the outter edges? Seems like your foot would slide around on it. And two pins next to center do not look tall at all?
Where are the Fooker pedals?
I run Deity's but with a Mexican brand on them. 😅 Still great function
I've cracked off a piece from a pair of chesters by smacking them on the ground on a bottom out. a friend of mine had the body break right off the spindle.
How does the size compare between OneUp Composite and SMALL Stamp 1?
What about the Kona wah wah’s? they’re really great and definitely bigger than the crank bro larges. So great for big feat
Could include measurements in your reviews. Very helpful.
Great idea! We can definitely try and do that :)

How do you know which pedal pins work. Ive seen some on Amazon but they say the pins are for specific rand pedAls
My pair of Chesters have black spindles! What’s up with these ones?
What are your thoughts on the bontrager line elite? $49.99 USD composite pedal.
Chesters are my go to.
Did you change your mind about the grip on the threaded vs non threaded pedals in the last year?
The thing is, the Atlas pedal is different because the pins are so much longer and thinner than most other pedals that have smooth pins.
Kona Wawa 2
Love my stamp 1👍
I've managed to brake a pedal. It was a cheap pedal and it wasn't in a crash
Thank you for the info.
Chester!
Chesters because the wide distribution and availability of replacement parts.

I just switched from Chester to OneUp also and I agree the Chesters feel more natural under the foot.
Still waiting for my Chester's to die... Been two winter's so far and they are going strong. Not as much grip as my DMR Vaults, but it doesn't seem to matter.
Race face Chester:
Us: 45 Dollars
Germany: 70 Euros
Could you guys put a wheelset together for me? Need I9 hubs with raceface rims and custom color decals
i keep on watching this video. issi is drawing me in. i hope you have stock . i want 1
What about Nukeproof Neutron Evo? Seems pretty solid and has great reviews.
Bought them a while ago and they seem solid, although I only have Shimano and BBB(trash) to compare with...
they are the same as the deitys reviewed in this video , and of course they're great.
I have the Crank Bros Stamp 1 small and the OneUp. I got the small Stamp because I have a 9-9.5 shoe and it was lighter but I find it way too small in actual use. The OneUp feels way better and has way more grip.

Also great videos as usual
Stamp 1 in red color they look nice with red bike
I have Fooker composite pedals, have noticed zero difference between those and Chester pedals, and they are lower in price
You need to review the Kona Wah Wah 2 composite pedals....they are supposed to be a really good concave pedal as far as shape goes
The angle on them also deflect off the ground if you have pedal strikes. I have them and love em. No more going over the bars when my pedal hits something
Getting me some Race Face Chesters, in blue.
