I remember way back in the early 70s my cousin and I were walking to school and somebody had thrown out the calvary fort ,it was complete or close to it ,so my cousin hid it and had hoped to find it when we got out of school, sure enough there it was so rushed to his house and had loads of fun , thanks MARX.

Yah I never saw this when I was a kid. Probably only really made it way into Europe.

Looks great! If I had the opportunity to do this I definitely would use glow in the dark paint to make it look like it was from a Blacklight poster.

I wish someone would produce the Remco Fortress of Doom in a hard plastic custom format. Or even better if it was made of wood like the ELC Tower of Doom playset.. judging by how the Remco figures looked on the prototype, this thing would be huge!

@@toy_room_of_insanity The KOllector tumblr only called them "moon and volcano plates" which wasn't very useful for searching, but it also implies the plates came in gray as well, and those should go great with any space themed toys.

This really makes me want to see people make replicas of Greyskull and other first-party playsets for the express purpose of showing off custom paintjobs as a setting for their collections. Sure, you'ld own a real Greyskull, maybe the one from your childhood, but you display on the playset that you made pop.

I just kinda wish that effort even by *Eco* had been put into the *inside* of the playset, not just the exterior.
When I saw the box for Monster Castle, that head and arm appeared to me like they were on a swivel, adding to play value; without that, once you get past the head and the claw just *there* , it's like the playset just doesn't have as much excitement, since there's nothing behind the castle door.
I got you. What is cool about this is that it's another item from the endless realm of knock off toys. Gotta love it
