It's to demonstrate that they can understand Shakespeare because people seem to regard his work as some super COMPLEX thing, almost impossible. And it isn't. Everyone should read this comment. One of the most self empowering things I’ve ever heard was from Akala during one of his lectures at Oxford I watched online.
‘To overcome a hurdle in life you get over it and move past it. To overcome life you need to know what is putting those hurdles in front of you’. You can use that quote for literally every situation you ever encounter in life. It is the single most important thing to understand how to overcome the bigger problem not endlessly fight the short term fights.

Akala also gave an address an Oxford university a few years back (in a hoodie) and it’s well worth a watch, not to react to, just for another look in. To be fair, any talks or interviews and especially his book - Akala is one of the greatest educators of our generation IMO and inspired the next generation of uk rappers to use their voice to educate and speak on real issues. Without OGs like Akala, Mic Righteous and Lowkey, we wouldn’t have the current wave of conscious uk rappers, like Dave, Ocean Wisdom, Slow Thai etc.

Last time I checked Akala now holds 2 Doctorates and is now officially a Professor at a university. Hope you do all of his Fire in the booths pt4 being the best. Also check out his daily Duppy. He has 2 one from like 10 years ago but still is heat a d new one that shows his progression. This is why I love rap, proper rap is philosophy poetry knowledge all with a real hard hitting edge, and as a white guy I have the opportunity to learn another culture and the more we understand each other the more harmoniously we can all live together, gangster rap has its place too as hype music but too many people of all colours are seeing it as a way to live by and that’s detrimental
