I love harmonized etudes. Mauro Scapinni has some fantastic harmonized etudes as well.

No hay nada nuevo en ello, con todo respeto. Hasta en las Fantasias, ó Partitas, Suites para instrumento ( solista) el buen maestro de instrumento, lo sugiere, por diferente y muy buenos motivos

I love that you can actually hear the meter with the piano! So many recordings of this etude lose track of the triple meter and it loses some of its dance-like quality.

It is but a wonderful interpretation you offered to us, both from the flutists AND the pianist! Thank you so much for that..
Is it possible, for a personal chamber music project, to have the piano score? Can I buy it from somewhere? Any information would be much appreciated!
Thanks again for your music! :))

To Mr Avakian - I agree - let the music speak for itself! Brilliantly done! Then maybe we could discuss the underlying piano part. When will it be available for sale in public? Can I order it from somewhere?

Joachim Andersen added "p con garbo" to this etude. I had to look up "garbo": Polite, friendly, noble with elegance and grace. I alway come to think of the actress Greta Garbo. I always wondered whether there is a connection? Anyway, Denis - It sounds like you have turned up the sound level considerably, but that is understandable with the fully elaborated piano part underneath. I admire how your top tones are continued to sound over the underlying triplets. It's a fantastic etude, thanks for demonstrating that! And - will the piano part be published?

There are two comments in Russian language of which I will quote the latter after having it run through google translate:
"and whom does he want to surprise with technology?
let it play something slow and melodic"
So who is Denis Bouriakov trying to impress playing this etude with great speed (high technical skills)?
Actually there is a very scary metronome number attached to this etude, this is the case of most of Joachim Andersens etudes.
I decided I wanted to check the metronome count on this recording, but I was stunned by the valse metrics that others have also commented - the topo melody flows so well that it would be a pity to use technicalities to judge. So I guess I agree with the Russian remark in that respect - let the music speak for itself, played "slow and melodic". Yes there you are, but then there is this intricate thing with the underlying triplets! So virtuoso flute is not only what you mention - there's got to be that extra glimpse of virtuosity. I still think this is a great recording. It is true (Russian remark 2) that the flute tone is under stress - but that is a result of the advanced - and admittedly superfast flow of many, many notes per minute. Still - it's a centerpiece of repertoire for flute, the flute solo part can be downloaded from the music dept. of the Royal Library of Copenhagen, google library name and "Joachim Andersen" and you will find in fact all his music in pdf format. The piano part is harder to get!?

The psychology of human beings is a very funny thing. When someone plays something technically very hard with perfection some people claim that performer a good "technician", but not a good musician. When the same performer will play something slow and beautiful with great musicality the same someones will say "yeah, it's beautiful, but we are not sure that you have enough virtuosity to play something fast and virtuous". Come on guys, enjoy a great performance of a great flute player, dont be jealous if someone is doing better than you ;)
