On Tuesday, he announced he's sending 120 more after 2023 crime statistics show violent crime in Oakland is up 21%, robberies are up 38% and car thefts are up 45%. Maybe start with illegal vehicles with fake license plates or missing plates. Then impound these cars that have their windows blacked out. Clear violations that go ignored by OPD.

Tx189, you show your lack of intelligence. The police DO NOT GET funds from writing “tickets”. The fines from them go to the city or county in which the citation (ticket) was written. You must have gotten an unfair ticket for something you obviously did to make a statement like that.

I live a few blocks from the TL, all the groups of drug dealers are gone, just a few individuals wandering around, and they don't stay in one place anymore. All the tent encampments are gone. Retail theft has also dropped considerably. The city is a lot more like it was in 2017/2018
@@HicSvntDracones went to Golden Gate Theater (by orpheum) which is down town and saw quite a few homeless there but im not from SF so cant compare. Also, i hope you understand that this people didnt disappear and most likely they just put all of them in hotels that you, me and we all are paying for in taxes. Right (I had the same math) & they said 6 were added in August 2023, which means prior to that there were only 7 CHP Officers assigned to Oakland.
No clients no business. Oakland citizens should stop buying stolen products to start with. I was told about a place that sells clothes and shoes from good stores at half price. Kind of selling the products that are left and out of season. That was not true. I went there. It was a house whose backyard had racks and shelves of clothes and shoes, and there were many young kids with bags that were selling to the people there. In other words, those kids were the suppliers.
I guess he misses his In and Out.
More wasted money the da would still need to actually prosecute them .
That mayor is a joke and out of touch. Traffic stops for speeding and running lights aren’t the issue. The violent robberies, burglaries and homicides are the issue. The DA of Alameda County is being recalled because she’s protecting criminals.
She is (mayor) a joke! She is only there for self-preservation and self-serve purposes only! Did we all forget the police officer that was killed recently in Oakland? If that would have happened in any NON western state, the fellow police officers would have picked clean that city until all criminals were off the streets!

I’m glad to see the Governor finally take a stand in sending this and prosecutors. But due to him shutting down prisons, these criminals will just be let back out on the street.

Let's have ONE patrol 580 between 80 and the Richmond Bridge. There are few to NONE. I called their office in Oakland once. The first response was that 580 does not go through the City Of Richmond. I had to correct them. They weren't even aware we were in their territory.

The fact that CHP can chase is a huge deal. OPD should be allowed to chase on all traffic stops too.
