Tips: timestamp would be much helpful
I will keep commenting this but u can get infinite ferrystones from manella at the volcanic island camp.
So what i did was when i first got through the border at the checkpoint rest town using the border pass brandt gives from the main quest, i took on and finished the quest two guys give u to take down the coral snakes first before anything. When crossing through the border gate theyre both standing to the left next to some stables.
That quest requires u to go to bakbattahl. When u get there ur asked by a beastren named manella who asks u to help her catch the assassin sent to kill the queen there. Just agree to help her and she will tell u to meet her at the palace. U dont need to meet her immediately so just head to the jail to finish the coral snakes side mission first to help out hugo. After that then help manella catch the assassin and then manella will head to volcanic island camp. Then go to volcanic island camp and i just kept talking to manella.
She is standing by the merchant store next to a ladder that leads to the hotsprings. If u keep talking to her she gives a ferrystone at the end of her dialogue. DO NOT speak to another NPC until u get the amount ur happy with otherwise her dialogue will change.
For anyone who hasnt beaten the game yet, don't watch this video. This guy just straight up spoiles a major boss fight with 0 warning.

@MrJack2449 I'm like mid-way through the game and craving some Dragons Dogma 2 videos so I'm interested in watching a tips video now that I'm really getting into the meat of the game but would still like to avoid spoilers of the end-game. "Do not watch because of 1 spoiler" doesn't really help in a long list of tips kind of video, bit it's still appreciated.

Mages also sync with sorcerers. Such pawns will even tell you this as they move to cast beside you.
Only buy the art of metamorphosis if u want to change ur pawns inclination to best match its vocation. When u use it, u dont have to change any physical appearance after selecting the new inclination. The art of metamorphosis is 500RC vs 2000 for the incense

6:35 what? Dragons don’t give dragonsplague do they? They have a spell that takes over your pawns during the fight but not anything else?
That's exactly how they get it lol when they pick up your pawn and make them change sides the pretty much are carrying the disease at that point
I always have really strong pawns with me because of one thing you left out. After you know what vocation you want, bumper over to see the skills you want them to have. Once youve narrowed it down to 3-5 options, go to each and click pawn details to see their actual stats. Typically you can find pawns with much higher strength/magic this way. Like 200 pts higher. Sometimes i see pawns with good skills only to see they have crap weapons. Like, wtf man, upgrade your pawn bro.
Good tip. Play the trickster vocation until you unlock detection. It helps make a noise and illuminate any seeker tokens or wakestone shards when near.
Or just Warfarer. Detection basically made me walk the entire map again. Just couldn't wait for NG+ apparently

Don't buy the inclination change items. Buy the art of metamorphosis. It's far cheaper and allows you to change their inclination.
Both times i had to deal with the dragons plague, it was an NPC pawn called sphynxfather. Coincidence?

The sphynx pawns are abused for hire cause of ghe sphinx quest. If youre gonna get dragon aids from anything it probably started with a sphinx pawn

See, I thought that at first too, until I had my pawn use it while I was a thief using Formless Feint. You just become truly invincible basically the entire fight with no need to ever carry stamina regen items.
@@B33b3 How bad is your build that you need unlimited stam and formless feint?
Actually Sorcerers can very easily deal with golems if they have seism (the earth spell) equipped. It deals physical damage and honestly it takes down golems REALLY fast!
Also maelstrom wrecks them that's what I use 👍🏻

You can get Dragon's Plague in two ways. You do not get it simply by fighting or being near Drakes and lesser dragons. The drake has to grab a pawn and speak to them in Draconic tongue. If this happens before you break their grasp of them they will have contracted Dragon's Plague. The second way and probably more common way is by hiring a pawn from the rift that already has it.
I wonder if there are some inconsistencies with that. In my experience, i've had pawns get grabbed plenty of times without it being interrupted and none ever got infected, meanwhile I noticed one of my hired pawns was infected right after a lesser dragon fight where the dragon never grabbed any of the pawns. That pawn then later passed the dragonblight onto my main pawn after i rested at a camp. That said, im not 100% sure the hired pawn didnt have the disease prior to the lesser dragon fight, but I do know none of the pawns were infected when i hired them and they were with me for a while prior to that fight. The eye glow was extremely faint after the lesser dragon fight (i could only really notice because the pawn had light blue eyes) and she hadn't begun acting weirdly yet (no back sassing, holding head, etc), which it what makes me think she was freshly infected.
Or a wandering one...
I hired one and it gave me the pop up tutorial on the plague, I said; Nope, to the 🌊🐙
@@RSAgility this has happened to me too - saw the red eyes on a wandering one, so i backed out of the dialogue, pinned em on the ground and shanked em to death lol.
@@aharttsx8019 ive always dozed off at a bench for 3 days after hiring pawns. Thats enough time to let their eyes get bright red. After i see the red eyes, sleep at a campfire and for me at least it would always pass to my pawn so i can chuck him into the brine. Then u have a dragonplague-free party haha
If you build up affinity with all your pawns by interacting in the camp sites and changing appearance at the barberie for your main pawn they will resist the draconian tongue control by announcing I only follow the arisen. It was a pleasant touch and had me proud of my waifus.
extra tip for those seeker token daggers, they have INSANE knockdown power, with dwarven smith upgrades, they can end up at 497 knockdown power, around what some of the warrior weapons are.
I like them coz they glow near chests but yeah the knock down power is crazy for daggers
For Sorcerers......Augural Flare destroys just about everything in the game.

Some videos are saying dragon's plague will kill a town, but the people will return after a few days. So, it's not as game breaking as people are claiming.

@@TheRedfieldWay5 days late but yeah I’ve gotten it 3 times (twice on purpose) and can confirm the npcs respawn, I just rested at a bench for 3 days. It’s not a game breaking mechanic

The go command can make pawns interact with most mechanisms. Ive told a pawn to wind the lever to ride the gondola. Ive used Go to tell them to mine nodes and they seemed to start doing without me telling them more often (not 100% sure). I've had me and the squad man one of those giant ballista. Go and also Help also seemed to make pawns do support moves when its viable, even in open world stuff (Shield Toss, Catapult).

Can’t stands pawns that have springboard cause they literally crouch next to me when I want them to get that damage in 😂
My pawn kept flinging me up in the air mid battle at the worst times and completely in the opposite direction all the time. Got rid of it in the end.
Yeah pawns with springboard are unhireables to me lol
You can jump up opposing walls with the thief passive by just repeatedly jumping off the walls. You can climb all the way up. Vernworth is a good place to practice it. Looks like it's straight out of Rush Hour.

We need a hide helmet setting. Some of the helmets are god awful

I find that I don't needs a fighter at all in later levels. I run 2 thieves, a mage, and me as a warfarer Magic archer/thief. We mow over everything.
PSA FOR MAGES if you use solemnity (silence) on a lich, its an instant knock down for them and whilst they are prone use the healing AOE on them... its silly

I was about to buy stellar blade.
Then I thought, FUCK THAT IM GONNA LVL (MY EX) MAIN TOON TO 999 !!
1st playthrough I unwittingly skipped the metal giant boss fight. I was simply doing another quest, heard him stomping around, and then cutscenes showed the NPCs kill it.
- I didn't even know it was a boss fight until I happened across it on TH-cam. Lol.
As well as the final boss where you get teleported back to him, I just killed him again. Didn't know you had to climb to his belly and hit him with the sword.
My ending was simply me sitting on the throne. (I hear this was the "wrong" ending)
Something I learned today from a mod is that pawns do build affinity with you. talking to them, low fives, hot springs, going to the barber to change them etc. all that increases it and if it gets high enough they'll start blushing and have some new dialogue. Unfortunately throwing them in to the Brine or any death that requires them to be summoned at a rift stone lowers it, on the bright side it does change some stuff in the ending.
The mod is "Show Main Pawn Favourability" on Nexus, it just lets you track the affinity, nothing else.
1st Tip: if you pick up an enemy and sprint in to a wall or tree, your character will slam them and open them up to a finisher. The slam does do DMG so before care when trying it on NPCs.
2nd Tip: Mystic Spearhands "Forbeding bolt" opens small enemies (Goblins, wolves, bandits etc) to heavy attack finishers, its a small window so if the enemy is far use "Quik Fot" to teleport to them then Heavy Attack immediately.
Is this for pawns you hire or does this apply to our main pawn as well

People need to stop recommending the springboard ability. It is a complete waste of a move slot. You won't even need all 5 five fingers on your hand to count how many times it will come in handy. And it's even more worthless putting it on a pawn. Not only will they not use it on the extremely rare occasion that you'd actually want them to use it but there's noway to command them to use it if your outside of combat like if your wanting to reach somewhere high. Stop recommending this garbage ability to people.
There actually is. If you focus on a high up chest let's say, it'll blink white, eventually said Pawn will offer to toss you up there since they notice your relentless stare at this chest of marvels.
Yeah I just look at the chest the press go pawn instantly wants to proppel my fatass lol
@kylejmau08 its honestly still not worth it though. I used a pawn early on for that but the pawn constantly tried to use it mid combat, launching me at inconvenient times and if you dont go to them to use the springboard they will just sit there in the position for like 20 seconds straight instead of, you know, fighting and pulling aggro like they should be. Straight trash ability.

This game has to be one of the very select few of games that I can get that exploration dopamine hit from. Witcher 3, Zelda Tears of the kingdom, Skyrim, Fallout, and Baldur's gate 3 are good examples of games that provide the same high.
Those who are not enjoying the game are separated into 2 camps.
A) those rushing through the story and doing minimal side quests.
Or
B) those bitching about microtransactions and complaining about performance on PC.
To be fair, I'm playing on PS5, so I can't vouche for PC performance.
If you really want a game you can sink your teeth into and get absolutely absorbed into a world, then play dragons dogma 2.
I can't remember the last time a videogame kept me awake until sunrise because I wanted to do "just a little more". I'm not kidding. I am in love with this game!
I loved the game, best exploration I’ve felt since first playing guild wars 2 or skyrim, but there’s definitely more reasons than just 2 for people to not enjoy the game. Theres no need to make wild speculations, why worry so much about what others think of the game? Some might just not enjoy it, don’t let it spoil your own fun
PS5 has performance issues too, and unlike PC, probably won't be completely 60fps unless Capcom cares to better optimize/patch it.
Switching to right/left bumpers is for mamas boys, switching to mouse/keyboard is for real men.
Fun fact It isn't just Sorcerers, Mages and Sorcerers can Sync up Spells as long as they have the same spells If you want a Healer and a Magic Nuke.
If you use the Eternal Wakestone, make sure you stand in the middle of the town. It has an area and can miss many of the dead NPCs. Also, I think it has a maximum revival rate of 161 people but that is not confirmed.
After some time, some of the NPCs get revived anyway, but I still have some in the morgue that I had to raise for a quest.
Ive been careful with dragon aids and having a town wiped, but thanks for the AoE info. If it does happen ill try to carry all the dead people into an area then rez them. They will probably think they had a wild party

Swagon's Dogma is real, there are so many good armor pieces that make awesome cohesive sets
Awesome video I had no clue about earning favor with certain NPC’s.
Nah switch out the bumpers with the triggers it’s way better than just switching bumpers.
Springboard and ladder launch are aweful to have on pawns in my experience. They will just sit there crouched for awhile in the midde of the fight when you need them to aggro
And you can just pick up the pawns and throw them at bosses if you really want someone to climb them
What I wish I'd known:
1. Remember or take a screenshot of where you got your first Seekers Token (you need to go back to its location for one of the Sphinx riddles).
2. Do not use the grimoires: Let There Be Light, Fulminous Shield, Nation's Death Knell, Howling Blizzard and Towering Earth. They're needed for the quests Spellbound and The Sorcerer's Appraisal.

14:08 also do the mystic archer quest and then go back to the dwarfs house and he enhances your equipment with Dwarven smithing.
So there's like 3(+) ways to get Dwarven apparently
First tip always should be. Remember where you found your FIRST SEEKER TOKEN.
I always pick up the one in the encampment first as it's the first one most players will run into naturally in a playthrough. Makes it so much easier when it's routine
There's a token right on the way to the sphinx in the shrine cave I just pick it up go activate the finder token then walk back like 20 feet and pick it up again lol

I found the go command helped me find my way out of a cave I was lost in. I simply set my quest to one in the direction I wanted to go and then just followed my pawn.
It’s not 2 sorcs. It’s the same magic. Me and Sorc will work if both have fire spells etc
Sorcerors and makes also sync so you can have a sorc and a mage to quicken casting then also have someone to draw aggro, you don't need 2 sorcs
Let your food age for about a day. They will have one more stage before they spoil and go rotten. They are more potent, and you can craft better items with when

Affinity with NPCs seems to decay over time? My discount wit the max affinity armorer went from 10% to 5% over a few days.

Can anyone confirm what exactly unlocks Dwarven smithing? I have done 2 quests involving the dwarf & his apprentice but still not able to use him? Is it tied to main game progression?
You be able to talk to Sara at any point after successfully completing related quests. The one I have in mind is Dulled Steel, Cold Forge or something along those lines.
Sara just keeps saying she is afraid and does nothing to further the quest.

i literally used 2 boxes on top of each other in that exact spot, it seems that either after a certain amount of time or if u run back a bit it makes the boxes not longer glitch. That or i just got insanely lucky.
Never give your weapons to hire pawns because you don't get it back that piss me off I gave my fire mace to a hire pawns to borrow once you dismiss them it's gone for ever it does not show up in your storage box. It's fuckin bullshit which means you have to play a new game plus to get another one.😡🤬
Doesn’t a warning pop up when you do that? I might be misremembering what exactly that pop up says, but yeah any items you equip onto pawns will be considered gifts if you dismiss them.

Might be GOTY 2024 for some. You like the gameplay? Go get it! Its worth it! You want to play politics? Don't play any game that has MTX, (premium) battle passes, lootboxes and more. Then I guess you can't play many many games if you wanna add politics and ideology.
This is an outstanding game from beginning to end. Sorry you won’t get to experience it. But, there’s bound to be great games you enjoy too.
