at 2:53, those are Rose Crown flowers according to the Rocky Mountain Wild Flowers field guide. Beautiful flowers! I wonder if there are Bears in this area since its untraveled. As usual, a beautiful hike and wonderful photography.
Awesome views!!! It doesn't look too difficult. It's sad to think that parts of what you filmed has been burnt. I can't wait to see all the wildflowers that you saw and commented on. Loved the view that came into focus at 7:17 when you came over the ridge... A "Wow" moment for sure. I saw your comment to Salisbury Marble & Granite and feel relieved as we are coming this weekend as well. We have been eyeing the weather forecast as well and hope that the chances of rain will make the fires go away. ... now we'll just have to get used to the altitude quickly!!!! :) Thanks for always sharing.. The smoke is clearing out a little and things are starting to resemble normal again. Looks like Sat will be a little cloudy but if you start early you can probably get a good half dayer in.. Sun looks a little cloudy but no rain. That might be a perfect one. I might plan on going out there myself.
Oh, I never thought of climbing it from that side--i've approached from the south (American Lakes TH) and northwest (Cameron pass) but that route looks great
Beautiful hike...I would love to feel a temp of 35 degrees about now! Tx is trying to fry us on the spot. Lost count of how many 100 degrees day we have had.
I agree. Honestly I am not a huge fan of the 14ers. They are cool but I really dont care if I do them. I love doing the more obscure mountains. The tallest mountains just have more people on them.
Nick have you done the Nokhu crags? Searched your library and didn't see it anywhere. Everytime you point it out in your videos it looks pretty intimidating.
I have not tried them. They are rated as class 4 so I doubt I will ever see the top.. but I still want to give them a shot. Maybe this year if they put fire out and open the highway up.
@@davidpiersall1727 I think Longs is technically pretty easy. Its just a grind. There is only the one class 3 move at the top of the Trough in my opinion. The rest is pretty much walking. So its an easy class 3.. but then they call the knife edge on Meeker a class 3 too. To me that is insane. I was on some more class 3 today and it was unbelievably sketchy. So class 4 is probably out of my league. I think the only class 4 I ever tried was this big slab on way up to Spectacle Lakes. I fell down it and tore up my knee pretty good. Its not been the same since.
I have not. We were thinking about adding it on but that tree section in middle looked pretty nasty. But then on way back we saw where the trail splits and some campers confirmed that the trail went to the top. So its on the list! Just hope that area opens up again after fire.
People seem to like to name things. The only reason I asked was because I had heard that a "mummy" was found in Wyoming but it was more of a petrified remains of a person. Actually what was interesting was that it was found in a cave and the person was said to be mature but was a dwarf.

I would. guess queens crown flowers Nick!! nice video
Cool! I saw some more of them today. Very pretty flowers. Thanks for watching!
Great video. I'm adding this one to my list.
Turned out great brotha! Really enjoying the more frequent trips! Can't wait till this fire situation calms down and we can hit it hard again.
Thank you for capturing those images. Hope it can come back eventually. So sad to think much of that is burning.

I know what you mean! It gets HOT in the midwest. Unbearable. Its been hot here too. Just gotta go higher in elevation to escape the heat!
Another beauty. Just goes to show that the best mountains in CO may not be the tallest!

@@nicksangetta8874 just for comparison how does class 4 compare to what you encountered on Longs peak.

Nice. Have you been up to flat top mountain?

Does anyone know why Mummy Range is named the way it is?
I heard it is called that because it looks like a mummy laying there from a certain angle. I dont really see it myself.
