These guys are incredible. I used to see them in Seattle in the early 90s and they were so tight, so furious and have been my all time favorite hard-core band right behind Bad Brains since I first heard them.
This is about as close to a perfect hardcore punk song as I may ever hear. Varied instrumentation, an interesting song structure and harmonic progression, and just boundless energy. The lyrics are a simple apocalyptic chant, but they are complemented beautifully by the music. Wrong is Nomeansno's best album by leaps and bounds, but this is the real centerpiece of the record, incorporating everything great about the band into one easy package. Most punk bands wish they could write a song this good.
Watch some live footage of them. It's unreal. He has always looked like an 80 year old man, and rolls his eyes and dangles his tongue while playing. Almost literally a beast.
Perfect song for today...election day...or as it's become commonly known, "The Series Finale of America". Yup...the end of all things indeed, no matter which moron wins 😱😱😱
+Jakub Libner Nothing is 100% new, just what experienced ears tell you there is. Of course bands reuse chords and patterns, but that's just from the collective conscience and repertoire of the art form. What you hear is just a I-V-IV combination with holding chords, this is what make you think of The Who, the rhythm and timing are not identical. The patterns are not unique to EITHER band nor countless others; it's sooo common. Saying NOMEANSNO took something from what The Who hasn't themselves is ridiculous. This isn't sampling. Plus, a band like NOMEANSNO would make such a reference or homage so obvious or uniquely their own it would be ridiculous. -- See Bitches Brew, Forward to Death, Beat on the Brat, etc. But that won't help you if you haven't heard the originals.
thanks for sharing, this one is my childhood's favourites. still fresh.

I'm disturbed by Disturbed being mentioned on a Nomeansno comment thread. Also, Canada is pissed about it.

yeah, disturbed just sucks
01:29 where is this from?!
+Jakub Libner What do you mean? No means no created it they are legends!
+Dr Lee Percussion Nope. The part at 01:29 is from The Who's Teenage Wasteland.
Do you mean the words? I do not understand.
+Jakub Libner Maybe Baba O'Riley uses the same prolonged chord in that part, but it's hardly a ripoff. o_o

I didn't even like them when I was 14.
