2019 Kia Sorento LX uses four 10mm x 1.25" fine pitch thread bolts installed vertically in the trailer hitch flange. The three lag bolts AKA carriage bolts do not fit in the horizontal holes of the frame rail due to them being 1 mm too big in diameter. Never install a hitch on a Sunday because all the hardware stores especially Ace hardware who has the best selection of alternative bolts nuts and washers closes early at 5:00 p.m. always install your hitch during the weekdays starting at 10:00 a.m. so just in case you need to get an alternative bolt nut and washer you won't get shut out like I did.

Since I made the video, I actually did install a four pin wiring harness. The six cylinder Sorento comes with it prewired, so all I had to do was connect the harness to two connectors located in a compartment behind the left rear wheel and route it to the hitch. It took about fifteen minute and cost about $50..
@@JustALittleFurther yeah the fuse is already installed in the fuse box for your trailer assembly showing you have that connector and that compartment you just exposed.
Have you try to towing a travel trailer with your Sorento? I have a 2020 Sorento EXV6, but no trailer package from Kia. Do you think if this hitch can able to tow about 4300lbs dry weight? Thanks!
Hi Norman, We haven't towed anything with our Sorento - just carried bike racks with the hitch. The V6 Sorento is tow rated for up to 5000 lbs. The trailer you describe has a dry weight of 4300 lbs, which means it will be very close to, if not more than the rated 5000 lbs after filling the water tanks, adding propane tanks, and filling it with food and gear. It might be a bit much for the Sorento, especially if you head for the mountains.
@JustALittleFurther I had issues the bolts were flushed against a metal sheet bolted to bottom of compartment over exhaust even hammering it I had issues

I doubt this exact hitch fits the 2008 Sorento, but if you go to either etrailer.com or the Curt Mfg websites, they can determine the hitch that will fit your Kia. The installation may not be exactly the same, but should be similar. Hope this helps... good luck!

My Kia was pre wired for the hitch. The connectors are behind a panel on the driver’s side.

You need to buy a vehicle with a V8 and a higher tow rating than a Kia Sorento with a V6.
Was it hard to do with out rear end jacked up?

Will this fit a 2011 sorento?
I suspect that the hitch may be different, but the installation will be quite similar. Just be sure you order the hitch that fits the 2011.
Does it fit the 2008 Sorento LX model?
