I love the 2015 version of this story--and the 1950 animated version too. In the live version, Cinderella can be seen as an animal whisperer, and you know the little mice love her, even to the point of helping her as mice wouldn't be expected to do. On the other hand, helping mice--and birds--practically steal the show in parts of the animated version, and they sing, too! The live version is a stronger human story, psychologically richer. So the two Disney versions are quite different, even though both have Gus-Gus, and both are a joy to watch.

I dont understand the fear that if cinderella isn't wielding a sword she isn't a strong person for a contemporary audience. Cinderellas courage kindness and imagination that gets her through the years of abuse and her belief in herself even when her whole world around her is trying to make her think its hopeless is inspirational! Cinderella is very resilient that even though the world around her is saying she is worthless and will never get away she continues to dream anyway, she continues to be herself anyway, she doesnt give away her spirit and in the end she gets through it. I loved the 2015 version of Cinderella Lily James was absolutely perfect!

Sandy Powell is such a wonderful designer. Every garment is so eye catching ,they make you feel the beauty of the story.. I love the designs for Lady Tremaine ,those dresses could be worn in real life.

What they say about the waist issue is terrible. Totally avoiding responsibility on that issue. No need whatsoever to give such a thin girl an extremely thin waist and take focus away from the message! "all the girls had naturally thin waists" yeah, because those were the girls you casted. What hypocrisy. Great film, apart from this.

Of course they have slim waists, they're slim, healthy women. People who are cast in films tend to be slimmer and more attractive than the average. None of them are underweight. One of the things said about the dress was that the waist was artificial and had been digitally reduced. That obviously wasn't the case.
