I'm not acquainted with Calibre, but I was so impressed by yer man's mixes of The Field that I will give it a serious listen. Ten minutes in, I'm getting echoes of LTJ Bukem. He's from the same planet, at the very least.
@@TheDaddyO44 Bukem's best stuff doesn't seem to show up on TH-cam, which is a shame. Liquid dnb, or whatever you wanna call it. Great vibe. Always thought of Bukem as quite London, whereas I see Calibre is from Belfast. I'm throwing in Orbital as a common link!
Lol, the Hartnolls as missing link 😐😶! True about the distance between Calibre and Bukem for sure, but pretty much everyone making DnB looked to what was coming out of London first (whether to work with or against it!). I'm sure Dominick would've been very aware of Bukem's work, plus I know Bukem played out in Ireland mid/late 90s 🙂 Re Bukem's tunes not up on TH-cam - his publishers blocked "Rainfall" in my drum n bass mix (all 44 other tracks had no probs!) so I'm guessing they've taken videos down for some reason - maybe there's a Bukem compilation imminent...?

Yeah Calibre was just starting out in drum n bass as Bukem was peaking, so I'm sure he would have soaked up some influence
