This instrument is now listed at the shop and discounted a bit due to the prototype nature of this one! www.austincustombrass.biz/a-r-resonance-soave-4-valve-flugelhorn-in-brushed-raw-brass-sergei-nakariakov-prototype/
Finally, a four valve flugelhorn. I have been wanting to see one featured here for a long time. Did you say what metal was used? It looks like there is a high copper content in the instrument. Great sound. I think this is one of the best sounding flugelhorns I have heard in a while. I have one historical question about the flugelhorn, Why are they built backwards from a trumpet? The bell is placed on the opposite side of the valve block from where one would expect it to be on a trumpet. has anyone ever built a flugelhorn with the bell on the same side of the valve block as it would be found on a trumpet or a trumpet with the bell on the same side of the valve block as a flugelhorn? I love the sound of this instrument. Great video, great instrument.
Perinet trumpet design didn't really become settled until I think the mid-20th century, when the Besson basically became the template for so many designs. You can occasionally find older trumpets, particularly in Belgium, that are built and wrapped similarly to Flugelhorns.
Great sound and exceptional range with the addition of the fourth valve and a master playing of course. Going to be a big hit! Out my price range for sure!✝️🇺🇸🧞

Wow!!!! I’m amazed by, despite the size the horn, how centered and efficient it sounds. It doesn’t sound tubby at all, just very rich and warm 😊
Yeah Trent, the horn sounds real nice. ❤️ from dB.
Thanks dB! Hope you are groovy!
Amazing horn. I have been getting great compliments on how beautiful this horn sounds. So easy to play!
it's amazing!
Amazing! That is something else !
it's pretty spectacular for sure!
Love at first, second, and third sight!!!!!!
That horn sounds superb, just imagine how good it would play with an accompaniment.

I believe the bell is phosphor bronze and the leadpipe nickel silver

Very nice in every way. Would love a comparo with Adams v AR v Bohme flugels. Then compare each with that AR mp and your typical flugel mp.
Well since Martin's horns are a year wait that's not going to happen
Beautiful flugelhorn absolutely awesome design needs a nice finish on it though, I don’t like raw finishes.
