Dancing Mad. The most epic of Final Fantasy songs. This is what happens when an insane, nihilistic clown ascends to the power of a god like being. Be prepared for a long, long fight.
Somebody once told me the world was gonna roll me I ain't ain't sharpest tool in the shed. She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb in the shape of an L on her forehead. Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming fed to the rules and I hit the ground running didn't make sense not to live for fun your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb so much to do so much to see so why not take the back swamps? You'll never know if you don't go you'll never shine if you don't go. Hey now you're an all star get your game on go play hey now you're a rock star get the show on get paid and all that glitters is gold only shooting stars break the mold. It's a cool place they say it gets colder you're all bunded up wait till you get colder but the meteor men beg to differ judging by the hole in the satellite picture the ice we scare is getting pretty thin the water is getting warm so you might as well slim my worlds on fire how about yours? Only shooting stars. Someone asked me to spare some change for gas I need to get myself away from this place I said yup what a concept I use a little fuel myself and we could all use a little change. Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming fed to the rules I hit the ground streets didn't make sense to not live for fun your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb so much to do so much to see so what is wrong with taking the back streets? Youll never know if you don't go you'll never shine if you don't glow. Hey now you're an all star get your game on go play hey now you're a rock star get the show on get paid and all that glitters is gold only shooting stars break the mold. And all that glitters is gold and shooting stars break the mold.
4:29 I think this part fits soooo well for kefka, like a demoniac messed up brain who wants to make as much destruction in the world as there is in his head. It's like the music constantly goes up and down like his ill personality
I love how this boss fight basically tells us that "Even if everything's too late, all opportunities ruined, each enemy now at its full capacity, as long as we're still standing and fighting, there's still hope!"
This song is honestly on par with some of the classical music greats throughout time. Just an incredible piece of music. FF6 is so haunting and dark. Perfect song for the last boss fight.
Phase 1: 0:00 (standard final boss theme) Phase 2: 4:29 (sound kinda monotonous fitting for a evil lord) Phase 3: 8:10 (a holy theme with evil undertones, what kefka thinks of himself now) Phase 4: 11:30 (kefka is now angry, his godly status is on full display in this phase) (he even laughs at you at 14:37 showing how he doesn't think your going to take him down with all his power and godlike abilities)
I remember the first time I heard the third part. That bell sounded and the organ started, and I was completely unnerved by a Bach-inspired fugue in a major key after hearing the first 2 parts. It was hope and despair rolled together. It didn't help that I had Relm and Setzer in my party at that moment (before I knew the dice mechanics, I considered him a mid-tier character). I lost that battle 😆
I love how cleanly the music transitions between the various stages of the fight in the original SNES version. They don't seem to be able to do that in the newer iterations of the game for some reason.
Much appreciated, I need to play this game someday. Arrived here after listening to, Distant Worlds II CD. I was curious how the orginal compared to what I heard.
I just finished it. Played it for the first time myself at age 37. If you're interested in the history of the franchise, or JRPGs in general, it's worth playing. I didn't like the gameplay, the story was ok, but the main villain, the soundtrack and the overall vibe of the game nade me enjoy it overall. The Pixel Remaster allows you to enable 4x gold and xp at any point for as long as you want, so you can save tons of time if you need to grind. Also, it allows you to switch from original OST to remastered and back, at any point during the game.
11:30 i always loved when the loop is looped. When the beggining joins the end. hearing the begining music here as a child was like in world of warcraft when Akuma says to illidan IT'S THE MOMENT THE TIME HAS COME
When I saw him here in his divine form I thought he had a scar in his chest and his hand covering it I thought that was the scar celes gave him I looked into the storm blood remake and no scar not even in his angel form.
The buildup here is so intense. The ominous evil foreshadowing of the music really tells you, that this is the end... Everything has led up to this moment... If you lose now, it's all over
First time playing the game, I heard the title theme and felt like "wow, this feels like in getting into something big" and having it kick off the final phase of kefka felt the exact same way
One Winged Virgin vs Dancing Chad
Tier 1: Hell
Tier 2: Purgatory
Tier 3: Heaven
Tier 4: God
4:29
Everyone goes on and on about the 3rd and 4th phase but the 2nd is impact moment for me.
@@zachariahjonahmaldonado5897I feel the same too. Phase 2 is actually my favorite

He rose up to become the new emperor of the world, and then its destroyer. That's why you can hear his old emperor's theme at first.

GBA version in particular was held back by technical limitations, it's sound capabilities were pretty abysmal
as of when i viewed this it had 666 views XD
i see it has been 6 years that you wrote this comment
So few because calcazn's channel got nuked. You were lucky to see that.

My favorite section 8:11. Sounds like Bach!
It kinda is. This arrangement is inspired in Toccata e fuga by Bach
Listen to the Poulenc Organ Concerto.
Part 1: Haunting.
Part 2. Creepy.
Part 3. Hypnotizing.
Part 4. The end of the world.

That actually would've been a very good detail!

Bach and Emerson, Lake and Palmer
its a beautiful theme overall
