Basically, the most active guild wins. In our case it's just running around the map opening chests and finding high coin yield settlements and sitting there until the end of the event since the other guilds aren't even doing that much. Use the coins to level up castle and get rewards. All without spending 1 emerald or buying a golden ticket.
The hard part is getting members to buy into AOC. And different members can have different roles such as 1)You need guild members to sit on settlements.......(also if a treasure chest pops up by them, they should grab the chest and return to the settlement) 2)One or two active rovers to grab treasure chests 3)Attackers......they clear the way for strong defensive teams
Just get to the center town and farm from it, and hope you're the only one active or at the least the one other guy isn't a threat. (True in my case, two other guilds don't seem active and I haven't had any returning problems form the one guy but I have potions ready just in case).

a whale's perspective. ofc a guild with 3 whales will be paired amongst guilds with a more leveled average. and the whales will domintate by blocking the 32x and bashing anything that ic communicating and running around.
I can't tell if our opponents in AoC are inactive or just don't care to bother with AoC. I don't care much, but if all we have to do is sit there I will never say no to free rewards. We currently have the center, all 4 8-point settlements and half of the 4-point settlements. We could take more if we needed to, once people wake up. I know it is still Day 1, but we may not reach 120 fights as a Guild, let alone each for the Event task simply because there is no one out there to fight. It's too bad, I wouldn't mind getting those coins (times 30 guild members) for more of the chests from upgrading the castle, but I'll live. I understand why you aren't big on the chests, but since we are basically guaranteed to win at this point (unless today was just a bad day for activity for our opponents) using up the speed boosters and health potions isn't needed so I may as well get more chests, maybe I will get 1 or 2 more Absolute Artifact Chests.
Sorry, but Area of Conquest still isn't worth it to me to do. I may do the bare minimum of holding down a settlement, but I'm not putting in any effort to maximize points. The rewards aren't much better than before (if at all) either. Honestly, AoC simply shows that what the game needs isn't new modes, but to improve on existing design. Just consider how heroes' ascension skills could've been done with the amount of work they put into AoC alone. Hell, new heroes generally aren't released with ascension skills when there's no reason why they're not. Personally, I'd rather just boycott AoC as a whole because it's the opposite of the kind of content I want. The reviews of the first time weren't particularly good either, but rather than focus in a better direction, they polished the original concept, which was completely unnecessary. We don't need more interserver guild competitions, we have more than enough. Maybe if this was server v. server and the rewards were better, I could see a purpose for it, but as it stands now it's just the worst of the interserver guild competitions. It's basically the guild version of Cosmic Battle with a map, but with worse rewards.
