Now that looked fun ! I would be very interested to see how it would look pushed even harder. To my eye it already looked at the limit or near the limit. What an awesome car, didn't knew about it before.

It was at the limit a few times, but to truly be pushed all the way it needs to be at the limit ALL the time. You'll see a lot more action on the steering wheel.

Does that mini windscreen really help?

I'm gonna say probably not at all. Maybe it improves aerodynamics though?

That's awesome! Do you have any info on your car? This particular one was also street driven back in 68. If you google Ginetta G16, the second photo (black and white, number 6) is this car.

First of all where is Buttonwillow it certainly isn't in the UK with a name like that ? 2nd What Engine is in the Car 1968 Ginetta tried a few, a few indeed as there wasnt many G16s built, but thats another story - I will take it, its a BMW M10 2 Litre, but not on Dunlop R7 Rubber. Why do i ask ? Simple really, i had 1 of the few up until 1975 but transplanted a Development Brit Leyland V8 4.5 Litre in for mainly Brit Timed Circuit Sprints & odd Hill Climbs from 1972 in Class 14, apart from the odd Chevron B19s it was a damb good car, way underrated £ for £ & enjoyed upsetting people with their latest toys - but good luck with the Car, they are rarer now than they have ever been for a true 68 !

Hi Kevin, Buttonwillow is in California! This car, G16 #001, was originally built for Art Allen, the US importer for Ginetta. He ran it at local Southern CA tracks (and in downtown LA!). In 87, another owner brought it back to England and ran it there. The 3rd owner ran it in the Eastern US. Now the 4th owner has it back in CA.
The original engine was a Coventry Climax, but that was swapped for the M10 for endurance racing in the 80s, since it was more reliable. We are running the car on Avon treaded bias ply tires, similar to how it was originally run.
It's a great car! It's still punching above its weight class, dicing with more modern sports racers with wings, slicks, and more power. We are currently at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reuinion this week!
