One of my favorite hikes is to the Bowl of Fire (southwest), although I've hiked to the Bowl of Fire (north) a couple of times, too. The Bowl of Fire (southwest) is a veritable maze of large sandstone formations, whereas the Bowl of Fire (north) is basically a line of (spectacular) red sandstone cliffs. I mention this hike because it's in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. As for White Owl Canyon, I've hiked it a couple of times.
@ We just checked out the Bowl of Fire. It can be accessed through Callville Wash or a small parking area off of Northshore Rd. It makes for a free roam-make your own adventure type of day.
