India's Indigenous BVR Air to Air Missile for Brasil's Grippen fighters

Brasil is looking to equip its Grippen fighters with a variety of weapons. The Indian Astra Air to Air missile figures as a very cost effective and potent weapon for the aircraft. The strike range of the Astra is 110 km and the missile has already been equipped on the Su 30 MKI of the IAF. The weapon is also compatible with the Tejas, MiG 29 upgrade and the Rafale.
