This song was too real. The UK hip hop scene is no joke! It's weird that we're just now hearing about Santan Dave. It's hard to imagine nobody on earth has told us about Dave until this year. It's just mind-boggling that he's not an international superstar yet. He's well on his way. One thing is for certain, we will keep the Dave reaction videos coming. Our currency is Kenyan too, so we're in it for the long run too!

Dave’s bro got 18 years in prison for joint enterprise which means he was involved in a murder but he didn’t kill anyone. His “friends” also planted all their knives in his bag which the police caught him with. Dave’s bro tried to take his life near the start of sentence hence why he was at the hospital.
Dave has been through more than I could ever imagine. Thanks for filling us in. Sheesh man, i hope his brother makes it out okay
@@BradAndLex Yeah Dave’s been through a lot. I think his brother has been in prison for 10 years or so now, the murder happened 2010 ‘the murder of Sofyen Belamouadden’ he was stabbed 9 times. @@BradAndLex Well on the tracklist for "Game Over", How I met My Ex comes two tracks before My 19th BDay but there is not any significance or story line per say. PsychoDrama kind of has a narrative from start to finish

When he says cards he’s referring to bank cards, because he used to do bank fraud (also referenced in ‘every Santander or Nationwide remembers me right pocket full of cards I’m a referee’ and when he says now they play with swords he’s talking about carrying knives and knife crime

Dave doesn’t have a younger brother, he’s the youngest. His oldest brother was locked for fraud.

According to wiki, "As of April 2019, Dave's brother Christopher was in prison, having been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 18 years for his involvement in the March 2010 gang murder of 15-year-old Sofyen Belamouadden at London Victoria station; their other brother, Benjamin, was jailed for four years for conspiracy to defraud."

Background information thread -

Furthermore, throughout Dave song he makes reference to his mother. Referencing despite his success, fame and money. His mother is still in distress about her eldest son serving prison time (18 Yrs).
(2) Psychodrama released on 8th March 2019. His debut Album psychodrama went straight to No.1 in March 2019. winning the Mercury Music Prize in the same year. "Game over" is an EP released in 2017. ( therefore 'How I met my ex' and 'My 19th Birthday was released first')
(3) 5:15 when Dave reference " Every Santander Nationwide remembers me " - this is where Dave nickname comes from which is (Santan Dave). Because Santander is a UK bank and back in the days Dave used to do fraud with Santander Banks. As a result, he was nicknamed "Santan Dave". (P.S fraud acitivty is really common in the UK as most teenagers even still do it using Monzo and various online banks to do fraud)
(4) Jack Merritt - represented Dave big brother however, was killed in a London terrorist attack near London Bridge in 2012

@@_nx.14_17 after learning about how the Psycho Drama album is set up, we were going to go back and do all the songs we missed in order. We want to watch the story unfold. Will it spoil it if we do Drama before listening to the whole album?
Brad & Lex no not really, as long as you listen to Lesley before drama it’s fine. The album is about him going through therapy as he was depressed (you’ll find out why he was depressed if you listen to his blackbox freestyle when he was 16) drama is him basically saying thank you for listening to the album and what he’s been through so far, so much more to come
The man is an absolute genius he’s more then a rapper, you’ll realise that after hearing Lesley. What I would say is miss out Purple Heart when your going through the album, it’s pointless really
