I am from Belfast, a few minutes from the city centre and I would NEVER pay that much for a fish supper lol!!! Travel up the Falls Road, try Raffos and Aldos!
Exactly.. you get double the quantity with the extras for half the price outside of Belfast. I've never paid over £8 for a cod supper... if its haddock then £5 or £6 for a supper. Any coastal town will have amazing cod suppers and you can be sure that the fish was freshly caught that morning.

You need to try Valerio’s in Lanark Scotland. Make their own batter, not the generic stuff that most chippies use. Batter is quite dark looking, almost as if it’s burnt but it’s not… utterly delicious mate, consistently so.

Try the Kyber Indian Takeaway Oldpark Road Belfast. I travel 20 miles to buy their food. The next door Chinese takeaway the Elements is also brilliant. The curry you had is “Irish” Chinese curry as we never had Indian curries here until comparatively recently. One of our national favourites is chicken curry with fried egg rice. Try that in the this takeaway. Try Gallopers cafe York Road Belfast for their BIG Ulster fry. Two eggs, two sausages, two bacon, vegetable roll, baked beans, mushrooms, hash brown, two potato bread, two pancakes, half a soda bread and half a fried fresh tomato (not tinned). That’s a real man’s breakfast or lunch. Big mug of tea and a pure orange to wash it all down. Don’t forget the HP sauce or Ketchup👍
Chip and Fish on the Ravenhill road east Belfast is the best cod supper in Belfast.. Fish portions are massive and the batter is nice and crispy.. chips are amazing and they make the best Belfast Pastie as well.. great value for money..
I had some fish bites there a few weeks ago. First time. They were vile. Very thick batter, hardly any fish and undercooked batter on the inside. Never again.
You need to get down to John Longs. Locally sourced Fish arrives fresh every day. Not many folk know about it, they don't do all the social media hype, they don't need to.
