This show is from 81 not 79 but it's one of my all time shows. I snuck in the back but couldn't go all the way in cuz I was only 12. Watching Footz is why I started playing drums
Just like I remember. This joint always cranked like a mthrfckr. I'm glad this recording of take me out to the gogo finished it up. It's one of the best.
@@courylanders4142 They can't get this sound back no more. Foots gone man. Really though.... Chuck could not fuck with Essence during this period. I wasn't thinking about no CB. I need me a joint of wack right now.

The Howard, Colosseum, NW Gardens, Panorama Room, Black Hole all had very distinct acoustics.
Listen to the wickedest drummer of Go-Go who ever did it for Rare Essence, which was Foots at 43:17. Listen to how Foots freak that high hat! (RiP). James Funk and his brother Foots looked just alike. I use to love seeing Foots play back in the day at the Eastside club. And don't forget about Little Benny because he was so smooth how he talked on the mic. (RiIP)
Not only the horns… the keyboards 🎹 and the composition. These guys were influenced by musicians and the later music is far more influenced by gangster rap.
