It's a well documented fact that electricians are terrified of brooms.
Besides, here's how "helping" works in most jobs. I get sent to help somebody because they're behind. Doesn't matter if it's their fault or not.

Sad truth is everybody is replaceable.. a company will take a huge hit in the money bag just to prove a point to other workers which wont net them a dime in any long run.. hell i was doing the jobs of 5 workers, on call 24/7, working 14 hour days every day, was the only one who knew how to program the phone system they had in place in a hospital and because my mother passed away and i had to miss a week then took all my vacation time the rest of the month and when i came back i was late to clock in at exactly 7am even though i was working 13 hours each day they pulled me in a meeting with the police because they said i might do something, and fired me on the spot after 10 years and all the hundred hours of training they invested in me. Had to totally redo the phone system in the entire hospital costing them 2 million because i saw the bid, plus instead of having one employee managing the hospital they had to put 5 people making almost as much as i was just to cover what i did on a daily basis there.. and tried to call me after saying they were going to sue me if i didnt tell them my passwords for the various call tree and t1 connections and fiber link points.. that stuff alone was at least 500k in network switching equipment they had to totally format and rebuild from scratch if they found somebody who knew how to do the shit and were apart of the security staff for patient information…. Lol. Fuck them.. funny thing is the day they fired me they thought i gave them all my keys for everything.. but i got my pay out of them for the rest of the year..

All bullshit aside I used to work for NoArk enterprises. I ran 2 machines, got my own material, set my 2 machines for each order, stacked the entire 10,000 part orders by myself, and would get to work an hour early every day to ensure we were ahead of schedule on our orders. I thought I was irreplaceable and a good employee. Nope they didn't want to pay for insurance. I did all that to make 13.00 an hour and get pushed to the side.

When I worked with Skyline Electric we were three weeks behind still doing demo. After three weeks there I put us two weeks ahead and made us catch up to the framers. We had to wait to install more pipes. The worst ones on a job is the sheetrockers. They turn your pipes push your wires back in and cover up the outlets. Mess with the plumbers fixtures and much more. I went to school on that job with one of the sheetrockers. I pulled out a sledgehammer and said if those pipes are not facing back the way we had them and set back up right. I am gonna have me some fun destroying some sheetrock walls. My friend said I went to school with that crazy ass whiteboy and he means what he says. When I came back from lunch everything was fixed back just as it was before.

I like to say I didnt apply to be whatever they want me to help with. I'm a hvac technician I know how to do it all we hook in a breaker and run wire to our disconnect and whip into our units with car flex, run our own drains, build our own traps, wire up low voltage communication wires, program thermostats, weld in our copper, hook up the ductwork.. but for some reason the other trades get paid more and they are unionized.

I remember when I had to repeat that every day for a week and the foreman kept saying the job was already too expensive. You need to work double time he insisted. Do I wish they let me transfer of that disaster off a job. Worst job I ever had to put up with. That job ended my apprenticeship after I put in some years of my life. Thanks for the laughs. It breaks up the stress of it even after I moved on. Crazy foreman from looney land. Busted my back carrying material for him. Did I say it loud enough the first 15 times!? And give me back my hacksaw! You make more than me! Buy your own! hahaha
