Yes, for some unknown reason, requests like these are a thing. I had a parent recommend (in front of her 7 year old daughter!) that I find a random guy on the street to hook up with so I could get pregnant and understand what it’s like to be a parent.
The entitlement, the audacity, the unmitigated gall of these parents! Their requests are so over the top and outlandish! Hugggggggggs of empathy and support to all teachers out there! 🤗💜🤗
I TAUGHT FOR 33 YEARS AND NEVER GOT A REQUEST LIKE THOSE. I DID, HOWEVER, MAKE ONE OF MY STUDENTS COME OVER AND CLEAN MY HOUSE. HIS MOTHER DIDN'T WANT TO GET UP TOO EARLY TO BRING HIM TO SATURDAY SCHOOL BC SHE WORKED MIDNIGHTS. I GAVE HER THE CHOICE...SHE CHOSE HIM CLEANING MY HOUSE. WORKED FOR ME!!!
The first two requests are revolting. If a child feels sick he or she can go to the nurse. By the age of five a child should be able to handle their own toilet needs including hygiene. If not then maybe he or she should be held back a year. Also dirty underwear doesn't need replacing. It needs to be washed in hot water with a good detergent and some bleach or some bleach alternative to kill the germs.
I think a lot of the problems with these parents are stemming from believing that works of fiction related to teachers are real and exceptional yet overworked and boundary-less should be rule and not the special exception. And many parents aren't really ready for the full responsibility of having kids and raising them
Fact check me on this: It is not legal to send a kid to the office or home if they have lice. According to "officials" sending them home or isolating them in the office for having lice will stigmatize them. But being teased by other students every day for having lice does not stigmatize them, I guess. I am a former teacher who is currently subbing. One of the schools I sub in has twins who have had lice for two years. I will not go back to that school. I now spray my entire upper body with "Fairy Tales Lice Repellent" every morning before going to school. It smells so good and can be found at that place that starts with an A.
Not sure what US state you teach in, but in Michigan kids can be sent home from school for having lice and can’t return to school without having proof that they are under treatment for the lice infestation. Good luck to you all in your state.
The needle scratching over the record was too much for me. That is a horrible sound. Can you stop adding in the sound effects or maybe get a better sound effect?
My first year teaching ⁸h grade a boy got up in the middle of my teaching, crossed directly in front of me and passed a note to a friend. I wrote him up. Within 10 minutes of afternoon pickup, mom called. She sd.SD., "I don't see anything wrong. When are they able to talk to friends? They have to sit by class in the cafeteria at lunch." For the remainder of that year mom found every opportunity to complain about me.
In my 36 years of teaching, there were many crazy parent requests. For me it became worse over the years. Especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Parents have no boundaries. Therefore, their children have no boundaries!
I can’t believe a parent had the audacity for the second request
More like ALL of these requests. I thought the “smell their breath” thing was going to be about alcohol lol
Unless said child is in preschool, it seriously isn't appropriate. Maybe not even then.
There is no way I could be a teacher, bus driver or cop, I’d be out of a job by noon!
What is wrong with people??????

What did you say to her??!!
Bring my child outside to me🙄Your child isn’t a pizza and his teacher doesn’t work for Papa John’s

What is wrong with these parents?!
Everything! And then some!
"No is probably the biggest understatement I can say right now 'cause what I want to say, I can't say." I'll say it for you: HEEELLLLL NO!

A-MAZ-ING!!!!!!! 🤭🙃
Love your facial expression at the end! It was full of a WHOLE lot of bad language!
I would rather the dog then the kids

I want to believe this woman is making this up for "likes" to help her channel. Unfortunately, I believe every word she said.
Sadly we do get these weird requests
Most of these don’t surprise me.
I got asked why we can't work on weekends too because the parent was sick of her kids and wanted a 'break'.
