I just know today that Raiden Makoto is God of Transience, literally the opposite of Raiden Ei.... A little bit emotional ost here! It gives 'cherish the moment while it last' vibes I guess!

Not sure if anyone picked this up, but Raiden Makoto's ideal is not merely transience, but is actually also Eternity but not like Ei's "eternity", which is stillness, but the embracing of the only eternal thing: change. Raiden Makoto had a more profound understanding of Eternity than Ei.

Anyone else realised that both zhongli and baal said goodbye to a person close to them on their 2nd story quest. We might see venti saying goodbye to his friend too when he gets his 2nd story quest
Venti helped someone say goodbye in his first story quest, kinda. Still, it will be sad if Venti has to finally say goodbye to someone.
And to who? To Dvalin whose getting weaker because of the Durin curse or to Andrius which is a spirit now that need to say his goodbyes.

@@billystokes3917 Thats what i was thinking too. maybe he does something like what Makoto did like placing his consciousness/will into an object or maybe he'll show up as a ghost. theres just so much possibilities now thanks to this story quest

Don't worry, so did I. I cried like a baby. Like, Ei lost so much and sure, she got some closure, but she had to let go of Makoto which must've been very difficult.

As an fledgling music producer, is there a secret to recreating these in such a timely manner? Or is it mainly just repetition/familiarity with your DAW? As an Ableton user, I can't tell if you're using Pro Tools or FL Studio, or what. Obviously not asking for any trade secrets, but perhaps advice on work ethic, or instrument advice on recreating that authentic Asian sound. (Zithers of course are a huge help.) If you get a chance to answer that would be great, if not I get it. As always, beautiful sound that so wonderfully echoes the feel of Genshin. (I mean obviously)
no, there is no secret at all except the time I spent into every single mix I made (8-18 hours or even more depending on the complexity). everything is made from scratch by ear, honestly I am not that good at music theory. I am using studio one as my main daw, for asian sounds there is so many great library out there with different sound signature and workflow, I recommend you find the one that work best for you!

I'm not as up to date on music theory as I used to be, and your answer is definitely helping me further construct my production mindset. Thanks a bunch, and keep up the great work!
I loved that in Ei second quest they changed that "big booba shy maiden" content and we finally got some real character development and lore. Well done mihoyo😔🤝

They didn’t change anything. Hoyoverse is different in their approach in a way that the writers are way ahead in their stories, that being said, Ei’s story quests were always meant to be this way. For the second story to be what it is, her experiences with the current human society in her first quest were absolutely necessary.
Ei was always a very deep and interesting character. And her first quest being more chill with her just leaving the plane of Euthymia was a huge step for her, but of course people reduced it to "Shogun hot date booba sword".
Her story quest made me relate and empathise so badly it made me cry
For me, Ei is the first character to have development in the story. Her story quest is now my favourite (the second part of course).

Its interesting that this song is like Ei's theme, but it has different notes, which signifies that Makoto is similar to Ei, but she's very different. The notes are also more of a positive note than Ei's theme? Because Ei's theme sounds sad, but this is more of a hopeful sad.
I think so. The motifs is so similar to Ei yet it sounds so different at some points. Showing how their perspectives and ideals are contrast but a perfect one. Makoto and Ei both are past and future of Inazuma, no one could replace or seperate, just as Miko said

Instead of being a tool, Makoto loves Ei like a relative .Ei was born with 2 missions to perform: Protect and Sacrifice for Raiden Archon. But what caused Makoto to die, I don't know
Actualy they a sibling, not tool that makoto create for some purpose. And makoto die in khaneria war
I hope that hoyoverse reunites them in another game it makes, even if it's just an Easter egg or a cameo. Raiden deserves so much more

This is so beautiful. I think this was my favorite story quest so far, I got really invested and I totally cried during every cutscene. also during the fights... so powerful

This was the first time Genshin Impact has ever made me cry while playing it.
I cried once thinking about the story so far (primarily about Venti's story), and Yunjin's performance of Shenhe's story almost got to me.
I cried several times during Ei's second story quest. It also reminded me why I love and play Genshin so much.
