FACT: Watching a concert in the Philippines with these iconic Filipino vocalists would always be worth your money
especially if they're doing opera.. damn.. even 10k pesos worth of ticket on the farthest seat is worth it

This was staged in Smart Araneta Coliseum which is an indoor venue but HUGE! Darren was just 17 here, still going through puberty. I thought he was very brave to even attempt to perform the piece. He was obviously very nervous but he soldiered on and did extremely well, though not quite perfectly. Hats off to him, nonetheless. Lani has operatic training since her mother was a coloratura soprano and her dad a tenor. And Jona...is Jona, a true class act. You should watch more of their individual and group performances in this Aces Concert. They put up an excellent show!

what I think is the jaw dropping moment for Darrens opening song is the fact that he sang Phantom's part THEN he also sang Christine's highest climactic note (in the whole of the Phantom play.. right? that was the highest note to be sung by those playing Christine, right? i think...).😅
Filipino audience is hard to please that is why they choose this very hard song to entertain them. Seldom filipinos stand up for ovation even just to clap for a certain performance. If you will observe your channel engagement.. Lot of people viewing your vids are from philippines but you don't have much subscriber. This is how Pilipinos are... You need to earn your spot. Lucky you coz you've earn it Wlaeska...Now you know lol
They have 300+K subscribers, for reactors that's A LOT. Views and subs doesn't always match up in youtube, it's pretty common. But yes, I agree on your first and second sentence.

It is sung by the characters Lakmé, daughter of a Brahmin priest, and her servant Mallika, as they go to gather flowers by a river....cheers...American-Filipino here on the west coast of the USA.😎😎😁😁....Happy New Year to you both. And the solo by Lani is from the movie: "The Fifth Element", with Bruce Willis and I think it is called "The Divine Language" a completely invented language just for the movie.
