Hearing Richard Shindell handing off a song to Steve Knightley, hearing it reflected back to him, backing it up, harmonizing to it...was this a slice of heaven hearing this just now?
I totally agree, watching Richard, hearing and watching Steve's deliverence of his so perfect lyric. it is beautiful to watch, especially the god verse , .....
WONDERFULLY MOVING INSPIRINGLY EMOTIVE PERFORMANCE ALTOGETHER AND A FABULOUS PAIRING OF FEELING PEOPLE. STEVE DOES THE GOD VERSE PERFECTLY LIKE THE VOCAL WITH THE EMOTION OF A KOSS SOLO AT HIS BEST. FEELING ! MAKES YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE DISPLACED PEOPLE.
Truly a near comtemporary (end 20th century??) folk classic. From America to Britain, while Gabriel Yacoub also covered it for France and the Continent beyond.
I agree - It shows what a great musician Richard is - taking the harmonies on his own song and sharing his vocals with another great artist. Have seen Richard twice in a house concert, years ago now - in Pasadena, California and another time near Culver City, California (with some other great musicians from the Fast Folk days)..
I feel a little ashamed, thanks to a video about wisteria i've only just discovered the name of Richard Shindell. That's a hell of a lot of recordings to catch up on
Great version. However, Richard Shindell's original is much better. It´s quite ODD how the weight of the melody is altered completely depending on who sings it: Steve or Richard. Each of them in their own style :)

Love Steve and this song!
I love this arrangement so very, very much.
Thank you for sharing. I wish there were more reimagining of Richard Shindell’s music. So lovely!
Love the arraignment.
Much more HAUNTING than the original cut.
Well done!!!
Beautiful version of a wonderful song, can;t stop watching this!
Lots of heart in it
beautiful version, I liked hearing them harmonize a bit.
I'm not one to have a favorite song...but this is it.

Brilliant intimate performance. Love the way they both get lost in the music. Richard singing harmony on his own song is cool.
I want to go to the shed
Wonderful. A great way to start the day. TY!
I saw Richard at Exeter Uni in Dec with SOH they were brilliant!!!!
Breathtaking! Thank you so much! Peace
love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great song but the original version is much better.
