Elves are from the forests not the mountains
Aren't there some elves living in the mountains in the Hobbit?
The actors keep showing how they don’t have a strong connection to the source material
Silvan elves are from the forest ie Legolas. But Vanyar elves lived in the mountains of Valinor the Undying Lands.
But even some Silvan elves lived in the mountains.
"For most of them (together with their scattered relations in the hills and mountains) were descended from the ancient tribes that never went to Faerie in the West." (The Hobbit chapter 8.)
The Silmarillon mentions that some Silvan elves moved to the Blue Mountains where Mirkwood is.
My favorite part is when Illuvatar tries to explain string theory to Sheldon, beautiful, I cried a lot.

I loved it when Galadriel declared: "There is a tempest in me! I am quadruple vaccinated and six time boosted against Covid-19 and that is why I can do what I can do," - hot tears started streaming down my cheeks. What a truthful telling of Tolkien's masterpiece! So brave and stunning!! 11 out of 10 👌
It's fine if he's cast as an elf. Not all elves have the fair skin + blonde (or silver) hair combo. I mean, Drows are pure ebon-skinned. Most Wood Elves and Wild Elves in D&D are also brown/tanned skin.

I just finished the series and thought he made a great elf. I was less impressed with Gil galad’s appearance. He doesn’t have the build of an elf, slim and graceful.
i can't wait to see galadriel having fun with sauron and some other fictional characters
None of these actors feel like they're from Middle Earth. The faces are soft looking and just doesnt have that grit the Peter Jackson films had.

Why do they put him through cringe by talking about how he wasn’t “represented”? As a POC myself I never once thought that I didn’t see myself in the story when watching the Jackson movies - those were life altering movies for me. I don’t think he even thinks this way really nor would I suspect a lot of “non white” people would as well. I would love to hear others’ thoughts on this if you happen to read my comment. Do you genuinely want to see yourself in lord of the rings?
Nope, I'd rather see the characters as Tolkien wrote them, and doing what Tolkien imagined them to do. A nearly one to one representation of his works if you will. The books are a masterpiece, and if I'm not mistaken, the only book more popular in the world is the Holy Bible if I remember correctly. There's already plenty of films and series' out there that depict multiethnic casts and characters in them. For them to wanna see people within a film based on European culture and folklore having their own skin color is just simply looking too closely at little details rather than enjoying what the books are about. That being said, it wouldn't be so bad if they left modern politics out and just stayed humble of being a part of something big like this... and if it were to be a very close representation of what happened in the books. Rather than the the story being 50% or less accurate to the novels.
Edit: Please don't take anything I said as a personal attack. Just wanted to get into detail the things I have a problem with going on with this (hopefully not absolute garbage but probably will be) series.

I feel like the clip they added at the beginning needed a bit more drama in the acting. It felt like he was just repeating the lines. But maybe that is his depiction of his character.

Exactly! I've liked what i've seen so far, though i need warming up to the Harfoots (but their theme music is awesome), but otherwise its looked dope. Especially Numenor! Lets just hope the writing holds up, as i'm pretty sure its clear that visuals will!

@@andrewberry7117 idk if you have family that worked on the show or something but this show has followed the dead on arrival playbook all the way through to this point. The trailers, marketing, interviews of cast or showrunners...there's a reason every trailer gets ratio'd, and the comments are clowning the show. This might've worked in 2015 but people are wiser now that they've seen the playbook this many times in action (also the average Tolkien fan is much smarter than the average Star Wars fan)

Why is Doogie Howser MD in this? Didn't that show end before I was born? I have seriously never imagined a worse casting for Elrond if I tried. that is the least dignified looking guy ever. I am so grossed out I cant even keep looking. Im not even going to try and watch.

@Liam Miller people did not hate on PJs lotr trilogy before it came out, people were a bit sceptical, but they didn't hate on it. The reason why people are not happy about this rings of power is because Tolkiens work isn't just another book, it means more to the fans than just another story, so don't go changing it!
