Wow, the Burns Harbor is already sitting out of the water. I would love to see some of what goes on during layup, and what theyre doing to the BH in dry dock.
8:23 love that you mentioned the beautiful old lady. Alpena is probably one of my favorite ships. It doesn’t matter how many times I see her I always enjoy it.
What a fabulous and highly interesting video Kevin. A bucket list for me would be seeing a footer travel thru the ship canal. I hope you can catch one coming through this year.
Such a treat to get another video from you! Thank you for the beautiful shots! I love the drone footage, that new drone has a wonderful lens! As they say," Where there is a will, there is a way!" Some great thinking on the engineer's part using the ballast tanks like that! Thank you again for sharing this with us!
Thanks for installment number 2! I am a Boat Nerd who summers up on Bayshore Drive and can see across to Marinette/Menomonie to watch ships on the Bay. I love your videos and try to keep track of what will be in for the winter. So grateful to you for all you do to keep us informed. Greetings from Chicago.
Great aerial views! I’ve seen them do a similar thing at Port Terminal in Duluth to work on a rudder or prop. It’s an odd sight… one could mistakenly think the ship is sinking by the bow if they didn’t know better.
So interesting and you met a fan. The Alpena is one of my favorites. I love the steam whistle. Interesting news on the Miner and glad to hear the dredging stuff may be out of the way.
Oh my goodness, I can't wait to see the footage you get with the new drone. Hope the Mesabi gets the repairs needed and is able to head back out, only 10 days left.
Another excellent video Kevin! The music is so suited to the wait time, loved it! What a delight to meet a young Levi you may have influenced more than you know, loved his interest and his awe to meet you!! Your channel and content speaks volumes in so many ways! Congratulations to you and keep on this wonderful road of adventures! Looking forward to more….. see you down the road! 🥰
New here. Happy to see, hear, learn about winter layup. Also obviously new to freighter watching. Also, love your voice. Glad to see you got your drone up too.
Great video! I had the chance to tour the Miner under construction @ American Ship Building in Lorain, so the Mesabi Miner has always been my favorite. Thanks!
Nice video! The algorithm brought me here. Im a railfan in Northern Quebec so no boat around here. The challenge of following train or boat is similar tho…
Yes, I do. You can find many on my website kevinodonnell.photography in the galleries section. If you would like one that you have seen in a video that isn't in the gallery, just email me at kodophoto55@gmail.com with the details. Thanks!
Great info on the Miner and great to see the "Old" guard passing on the passion to the "New" guard. Levi couldn't have picked a better mentor.

Great work as usual. Extra special meeting a young fan. Sending you greetings and best wishes all the way from Barbados.
Thanks, I appreciate it! Barbados is a beautiful place to be.

Levi, another boat nerd in the making...great to see the younger generation interested in something more than just a screen!🥰
A good Sunday Morning and a Happy New Year to everyone, greetings from Denmark.
Thank you! Same to you!
Well done. Thank you for the footage. Things on the St Clair river are slowing down.
This is my favorite ship, thank you Kevin.
The good Ole mesabi miner was the first ship I worked on at Bay Ship 22 years ago.
Thanks Kevin, always good to see your work.

Always mysterious and awesome when they just appear out of seemingly nowhere. Great video and great shots.
That bow shot was fantastic Kevin. Thanks for sharing your art.
I'm glad you liked it!

Always kinda neat seeing where you take the pictures from and I have stood in most the same spots myself.

love the photos.
I see the Burns Harbor in dry dock. Does any one know if she will get new paint?
Usually, when they go in for extensive dry dock work they get new paint.
What the ship in the background
Burns Harbor in dry dock. Further on down is the Canadian vessel Frontenac (both were in my previous video). Thanks for watching!
