Hulk saw football as a job. Something he was good at and can make money from. The death in his family was probably a big wake up call that there is more to life then football. He won titles wherever he went. He was the stand out player for teams he played. He is just a smart football player who is set for life and is happy. Not one who is going to fear what happens when he stops playing.
Both he and Oscar probably felt the trauma of the 7-1..hence leaving europe was the only way to avoid those painfull memories and enjoy life with big payday...i would do the same too

The problem with the guy is he was never, ever, Brazilian national squad level. Indeed, it showed how much Brazilian football had declined by his inclusion in 2014. He has some nice highlight reels, he certainly had skill, just not good enough. Chelsea dodged a bullet not buying him.
