For Chicago, Coby White led the way with a career-high 37 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists while aided by DeMar DeRozan (33 points (19 in the 4th), 4assists) and Ayo Dosunmu (20 points, 5 assists) in the victory. De’Aaron Fox tallied 20 points and 10 assists with Domantas Sabonis recording 18 points and 21 rebounds for Sacramento. There were two things I saw that needed improvement in Coby's game and they were ball handling and explosiveness when he was a rookie. I am happy to see that he has made substantial improvements in both of those areas. .

This is why its important to move on from Lavine and Derozan and let Coby and Pat develop. Had Zach been healthy i guarantee you Coby would've never developed like this. Management gotta stop worrying about selling tickets and develop these young dudes man. Derozan should be gone too.

Let him get up 15 plus shots a game like Còby and play his natural postion(small forward) and watch him start doing exactly what coby doing. No one would've knew Coby could've been this if Zach was playing bro. He would still be inconsistent all over the place. Without Zach he's getting more shots and not worrying about Zach. Pat can do the same but ppl don't wanna get uncomfortable by getting rid of Demar.

Haters/oldheads see this and immediately thinks oh defense is trash these days but not realizing that it's actually the offense has evolved so much and everyone is really skilled.

Well... defense is trash. Offensive play has ticked up because of the rules. Yes... players work on their handles more and everyone shoots threes. You can't be physical on defense. Hard to imagine what Cobi would be like in the 80s. He'd be good, but they lay him out if he came to the cup like that. Starks and Houston weren't the toughest guards. He faced Dumars, Payton, Robertson and others, but no one could guard MJ from 1 to 5.

@@DaaimShabazz I acknowledge your point however I think the "defense" is trash is a misconception.
Back then you can't play zone, so it's always just 1v1. It's actually even easier to score, players just aren't skilled enough offensively.
Previously, you could have good enough skill on one particular area and make a 10 year career out of it. Nowadays no such specialist like Andre Roberson anymore. Even 3&D is on the verge of going out, you need 3&D+One more skill like Passing.
EVEN if you are physical on defense, it could be a double-edge sword too. Previously you only need to be wary of their #1/#2 option, when you're tasked to guard the #3/4/5 it's your time to "REST" on defense. But now if you stick too close it's a backdoor & if you slack off just even a little, even their 5th option Center could just pop a 3.
Payton is probably 2 years at most, and perhaps just 2 games in the playoff match-up. Dumars/Houston/Starks etc vs. a non all-star like Coby White can pretty much be neck and neck or I'd even give Coby the edge.
Also why people find NBA more "boring" these days, because majority of the players can do a ton of stuff.
A "Coby White" in the 90s/00s would probably put up 8/6/2 nightly or something. Just there as a playmake/defense specialist.
So games are more interesting where you'll see a "A Specialist" vs "B Specialist" and you'll wanna see who will come up on top. Nowadays everyone can do almost everything even Thanasis 🤣. You'd tune in to watch if Alonzo could stop Shaq despite not knowing who else is on the floor except maybe 1-2 other names.
