If you see Zoro put the black bandana in his head, it means it's time to get serious. The snail that you see is called "Den Den Mushi", they are a species of telepathic snail that serves as a means of vocal and/or visual communication across the world. The outfit of Den Den Mushi are often customized to signify their owners. Also the bird that you guys see in episode 1 is called "News Coo" they're the one who delivering newspaper worldwide in One Piece.

Also, in the manga, the snails can choose themselves how they want to appear. Some decide to look like their owner, others decide to look like the person down the other end of the line.
@@DonnyD_Mingo No, the SBS from vol 95 confirms they can do either depending on their mood. One example of the opposite is with Sanji and Croc, where it is plot-relevant that Croc doesn't know who's on the other end of the line.
Not all amazing powers or abilities shown in One Piece come from Devil Fruits. whether or not someone is a Devil Fruit user usually gets telegraphed pretty soon after their powers or skills are shown.
Watching this one made me realize just how much this episode hints at things to come; apart from the obvious hint of what Shanks is really capable of, there's the brief glimpse of how dangerous the seas are, even in the most peaceful ocean before you go anywhere near the grand line, and Buggy as an early example of a devil fruit user, giving us a sense of both what a serious fight in this series looks like, and how utterly wierd the powers can actually get.
The guy with the unicycle you didn't recognize (I didn't either my first time watching), was in the bar in the first episode. When Zoro came in with his latest bounty, the guy was there (apparently making his own plans on how to get the Grand Line map), and left before the little girl offered Zoro the rice balls and the fight broke out. It's possible he recognized Zoro and that's why he left, or maybe he figured he was a pirate hunter and as a pirate he didn't want to be around in case there is a bounty on him too.
"Some kind of master of the Sea" - I like this sentence as a conclusion of seeing shanks do that the first time :D No spoilers, but it's something like that ;)
"Master of the sea" That is such a lovely compliment for Shanks!! The best part of this series is the amount of fan theories that you can speculate!! Please do feel free to have your own thoughts, conclusions and so on!!! For all that matters, fan theories make up such a show!!
In the world of One Piece, the snails communicate each other telepathically. They’re called Den Den Mushi aka Transponder Snails. In that world they have learned to domesticate them by using their abilities for phones. It’s pretty much how in our world, we’ve domesticated horses for transportation. Love your reactions! Keep ‘em comin. Great work!
Buggy the clown is one of my favorite characters in the series. He actually has a sad backstory with Shanks that i cant wait to see in live action Shanks does not have a devil fruit power. Devil fruit users cannot ever swim and loose all their strenght in water. "Master of the sea" is actually pretty close tho 😉 The straw hat actually has a deep backstory as well. A lot of small things that would seem unimportant or filler actually end up being vital lore in One Piece
I was so waiting for this one. So many great characters. Imagine seeing a show with a "positive" father figure, Shanks. Even if he is a pirate. Looking forward to the next.
If Eiichiro Oda wasn't directly involved, I'm sure Hollywood would have eliminated every positive male role model in the entire show. In fact, I believe we basically had that confirmed already from what we know of Eiichiro's demands of rewrites and reshoots about certain things.

Remember when he pulled that safe over his shoulder like nothing.
You totally get this show! It's silly but it makes us cry tears of joy when is shows the passion of human spirit and the bonds between the characters. It's very heartfelt.
Buggy reminds me a lot of the Joker from Batman. He has that same coy attitude and psychopathic twisted mind. He’s totally unhinged, prone to emotional outbursts, perfectionist wants everything his way and feels slighted if things don’t follow his vision. AND can split himself into pieces. Whoever wrote the character Buggy needs a raise 😅 Buggy is an excellent villain.
That's a very interesting comparison. I can see some similarities between Buggy and the Joker. They're both very unpredictable and dangerous villains, and they both have a twisted sense of humor. Buggy is also very ambitious, and he's not afraid to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. He's also very intelligent, and he's able to come up with some very clever plans. I agree with you that Buggy is an excellent villain. He's one of the most memorable characters in One Piece, and he's always a lot of fun to watch. I'm sure that the person who wrote Buggy's character does deserve a raise. They've created a truly unique and memorable character.
I feel like most of what you descibed only appears in live action adaptions of the Joker which post-date Buggy (who actually did have these attributes day 1). Joker in the comics is not a perfectionist and not prone to emotional outbursts (unless you count laughing). So if anything the Joker actors were inspired by Buggy. The maniac laughter in his first appearance is probably Joker-inspired though.
You are correct that the version of the Joker that you described is more likely to be found in live-action adaptations of the character than in the comics. The Joker in the comics is more complex and nuanced than the maniacal clown that is often portrayed in live-action adaptations. He is a master strategist and manipulator, and he is always one step ahead of his enemies. He is also a very intelligent character, and he has a deep understanding of human nature. The Joker in the comics is also not a perfectionist. He is willing to take risks and to improvise. He is also not afraid to fail. This is in contrast to the live-action version of the Joker, who is often portrayed as being very meticulous and calculated. It is possible that the actors who have played the Joker in live-action adaptations of the character were inspired by Buggy. Buggy is a very colorful and over-the-top character, and he is known for his maniacal laughter. However, it is also possible that the actors simply wanted to put their own spin on the character. Overall, I think that it is safe to say that the Joker in the comics is a more complex and nuanced character than the Joker that is often portrayed in live-action adaptations. I am curious to see how the Joker is portrayed in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Joker. I hope that the filmmakers will be able to capture the complexity and nuance of the character.@@IamGrimalkin

Trying carefully to avoid spoiling anything, but as far as I know and I'm like 800+ episodes in the anime, Shanks and a few other characters you will meet have not in fact eaten a Devil Fruit, OP will usually straight up tell you if someone has whenever they do something powerful. Shanks is just good old fashioned Shounen anime strong, and definitely in the running for strongest characters in the whole show.
I love the fact that you got so easily attached to the characters. That's the charm of One Piece! ☺️ I hope that you will continue having fun with the rest of episodes! I'm looking forward to the next reaction video ☺️
not only are your reactions great, but whoever is editing these knows exactly what to cut and what to keep in, a lot of reactors fall short on this. great job yall
Shanks is one of over power characters in One Piece that don’t have devil fruit power. In One piece’s world besides devil fruits, people can become strong(or super strong) by old fashion hard work and training. Devil fruits helps a lot, but it’s not the only way to get powerful. There’s another energy that everyone in one piece world has, but very few perfected it, and that energy was what Shanks used to drove away the sea king(big sea monsters).
10:00 so fun fact, the official "betrayal" was that Buggy had a map to a large underwater treasure and the devil fruit and was about to abandon the crew he was on with Shanks, Shanks saw him leaving, was unaware of what Buggy was doing, said hello to be polite and Buggy shoved the entire devil fruit into his mouth. As you can see, it's not really a betrayal, Buggy's ego just makes him see it that way
You know watching guys like buggy in the anime you really never get a sense of just how vile, dark and all around messed up pirates actually are since the anime keeps is pretty light. But seeing Buggy and other pirates in the live action just does such a better job and displaying how F'd up pirates like Buggy really is.
Just curious why these comments feel the need to give an idea to what Shanks is doing? When we first watched/read we had no idea what he did. It was all speculation leaning toward devil fruit because that was all that was explained. Why take that away from them when they didn't ask?
Out of everyone in the cast, the only cast member I knew of beforehand was Buggy’s actor Jeff Ward. From his role as Deke in Agents of SHIELD, I knew he was going to do a good job as Buggy.
"Are they tickling him?" I was actually thinking the same think, Haylo. But fun fact: In one of the anime episodes, where they fight Buggy, he's the one who gets tickled, when he uses his power 😂
Not everyone with powers has eaten a Devil Fruit. The ones who have will generally let the audience know they have and the name of the fruit they've eaten. Like Luffy and Buggy have
Remember, Devil Fruit users cannot swim. Also, don't forget that any time one shows up they will *always* announce what fruit they have. There are other powers in One Piece that are yet to be discovered!
There's a reason why one piece is the most successful manga of all time, because it's a masterpiece of a story and world + characters. Enjoy the live action!
If a character in OP has eaten a devil fruit, they tell you almost right away. If you see a character do something and they haven't eaten a devil fruit, it just means its their own unique ability. Devil fruit users are very rare outside the grandline.
The snails (also known as "Den den mushi") are phones, but they aren't phones at the same time. They're psychic snails that can be linked to one another anywhere in the would as long as the user can connect them. They can also project what they see from one snail to the other to send video and they can be used to send S.O.S. signals like short wave radios. It hasn't quite ever really been stated out right but they take on the physical facial characteristics of the person who raised them and "owns" them.
I'm a big One Piece fan and the live-action is great. It's a pretty condensed cut down version, things changed, and a bunch of story information that's dropped waaay later in the manga/anime get revealed early. Overall, they got the heart of the story down pat and a great cast of actors. It's absolutely the best anime to live-action adaptation. Look forward to enjoying the rest of your reactions.
I find a great joy in watching people discover the amazing world of One Piece. My many thanks to Oda for bringing so many people in the world together under one banner...the Straw Hat.
just a little information on the side. in the original you have to be mostly submerged into water to be affected by it, and it doesnt have to be seawater
If you knew the history of this dog that just passed by in the screen, you all would cry. I know that you will love the anime, watch an episode per day, without worries with the end, enjoy the journey.
Yeah, eat a Devil Fruit and no matter what powers you get, you can't swim and those powers go away with seawater. Which is a *heck* of a "kryptonite" on a world that's mostly ocean.
shanks didnt eat any devil fruit. its just the power of his haki, it is like the mastery of his willpower and it is only used by the strongest characters (if the show continue you will see that haki is more important than devil fruits in terms of power)

You're both so adorables .. Please don't die crying when you'll see SANJI or Nami's back story
Why take that away from them when they didn't ask?
the actor of Buggy nailed it like damn! great acting! ❤
Like Luffy and Buggy have
The guy at the end of the first ep you actually see him at the beginning of the bar scene when zoro walks in before he beats everyone up
You two are so sweet - I’m loving these reactions!
I love your reaction! You also notice a lot of details, so it is so fun to watch.
I can't I just love your guys's reactions?
You guys are so genuine. And also energetic with your reactions.❤
Don’t mind the nitpickers who criticize you if you were wrong about the details! Just enjoy!
You two reacting to this is just magic
Remember, Devil Fruit users cannot swim. Also, don't forget that any time one shows up they will *always* announce what fruit they have. There are other powers in One Piece that are yet to be discovered!
Weakness of Devil fruit is sea water, sea stone, and Haki
@@andresyabana2693 Don't spoil things.
Pirates should face justice. His line, there is ambiguous. Basically stating that if Luffy does bad, he deserves punishment. If he's good, then nope.
I love the first two eps but eps 5-8 are just so elite truly in a tier of their own
There's a reason why one piece is the most successful manga of all time, because it's a masterpiece of a story and world + characters. Enjoy the live action!
Literally can't wait until the rest of your reactions.
If a character in OP has eaten a devil fruit, they tell you almost right away. If you see a character do something and they haven't eaten a devil fruit, it just means its their own unique ability. Devil fruit users are very rare outside the grandline.
Go girls! Your reaction are priceless! I'm really loving!
Opens with a thirsty hamster impression and I'm sold.
Absolutely keep going! This brings me so much joy to see you guys react so authentically to the world and charcaters.
"is he just some master of the sea?" Probably the best guess at what Shanks did to that seabeast that I've seen.
This was so great!!! I can't wait for more. Yall really are capturing how fun this show is
Y’all are gonna be in the anime after this, I can tell already. Really enjoying the reactions to the show so far.
Just remember to take some tissues for episodes 6,7 and 8. They are highly emotional episodes...
i'm crying again watching this episode with you. Such a great reaction love it!
This is probably the scariest I’ve seen Buggy depicted. And damn, it works!
Luffy looks invincible early on because he's not met worth opponents yet.
I LITERALLY BEEN WAITING FOR YALL TO POST THIS!! Keep up the good work cuz y’all got a new subscriber!!!❤
I find a great joy in watching people discover the amazing world of One Piece. My many thanks to Oda for bringing so many people in the world together under one banner...the Straw Hat.
Love their reaction when the clown get punch off his body, then turn the head around to say "Hi". LOVE IT> somebody should print it out for them.
This Buggy is so much different from the funny anime version of him
Great reaction! Looking forward to watching your reactions to the rest of the series. Enjoy the ride!
I dont know why I just fell like this chapter is like one of the best of the season and make me so happy to see so many react channels enjoying it
just a little information on the side. in the original you have to be mostly submerged into water to be affected by it, and it doesnt have to be seawater
If you knew the history of this dog that just passed by in the screen, you all would cry. I know that you will love the anime, watch an episode per day, without worries with the end, enjoy the journey.
The first time we see Cabaji is at the bar in Shells Town.
I’m loving your reactions, imma stay tuned in because I cannot wait for you guys to meet Sanji!
Shanks and his crew are some of the best in the sea. They were laughing because those bandits almost killed themselves by threatening him. lmfao
You girls are watching all my favorite things and it is so fun to see your reactions!! Ahh!! Subscribed. I enjoy rewatching these with you!!!!
No, not blutooth. It's her shell phone. Love your reactions to this series. Looking forward to the rest of the reactions! ❤
I can't wait to see your reactions of the next episodes! This was really sweet!
The unicycle pirate was in the bar when Zoro beat up Almepo (the guy with the bad haircut 😅)
Almepo's name is Helmeppo
Yeah, eat a Devil Fruit and no matter what powers you get, you can't swim and those powers go away with seawater. Which is a *heck* of a "kryptonite" on a world that's mostly ocean.
The reason why Shanks let his hand to be cut of was to show Luffy what is the world and how dangerous is it to be Pirate
Im completely straight but even I simp for Zoro and his actor Mackenyu lol
You both seem as wholesome as Luffy! Love the reaction as always! 👍
shanks didnt eat any devil fruit. its just the power of his haki, it is like the mastery of his willpower and it is only used by the strongest characters (if the show continue you will see that haki is more important than devil fruits in terms of power)
