Thanks for this video! I've been playing SDV for a long time but only recently started a Co-Op game with my mom, so you answered a couple questions I had! Although my mom prefers to just water all the crops herself while she sends me into the mines alone, because she's not a fan of the "boogers" (slimes) trying to hurt her 🤣
Your video was very helpful. How many people can play couch co-op? If we start as couch co-op, can we later do online co-op with that person if they’re far away? Does the main farm owner need to be on for other members to play?
Glad we could help! You can play with 4 people in couch co-op on any console except switch. Switch only supports 2 players. I am not sure about switching to playing online. Yes he main farm owner needs to be on.
Playing splitscreen occasionaly has little lag spikes on switch. But we have never played locally with two switch so i cannot say. other than just the fact that you will no longer see each others screens i dont believe there is a difference.
How do you play split screen on the same switch? We have two sets of controllers, but only one actual Nintendo screen. We where wondering if we can play on the same farm at the same time together, but we can't seem to figure out how to join the other person
is it possible to play online with a friend AND have a splitscreen at the same time? i would love to see for example if my friend gets cutscene while they are in town while i’m at the farm
@@TheCo-opCompany nvm umm soo there was a problem i was playing this game in the computer and it started to bug soo i turnd off the computer and opend it again ive been doing that for a couple of days nothing bad seemd to happend untill that one day were the game was bugging again soo i puted my charaters to sleep before turning it off then after i opend the game again the world dissapeard do you know anything about this? or a solution to get my world back?
We only have the game on the switch and only play couch co-op so I can’t say which is better. The switch will occasionally have a lag spike here or there playing in splitscreen but never enough to really bother us. If you want to play online with two separate devices I would say go Pc so you don’t have to pay for switch online. If you want to play on the couch together go for the switch! Best of luck and sorry for the late response!
@@TheCo-opCompany Oh okay awesome! Yeah we're probably going to go with the switch because of your recommendation, thanks! But I heard if both switches are on the same Wi-Fi you don't have to pay for online? Local coop or something? But you need two switches and two copies of the game
@@maxketch3807 yes! That is what the switch calls local wireless. But you need to check the games first. If you scroll to the bottom of the games page on the e shop it tells you how many players it supports in each type of play. For stardew it says 1-4 online, only 1 local wireless and only one on the same system. I know for a fact that it supports two people on the same system. But since we only have one switch I cannot say if it supports two people in local wireless. That’s strange that it is wrong about the amount of players on the same system, it may be wrong about local wireless too, but we just don’t know.
I think you will both need to have a copy of stardew In order to play online together, as well as having a switch online membership. But I’m not super familiar with online co-op as we focus on couch co-op games. Sorry I couldn’t be more useful!
Yes! The traveling merchant seems to continually sell them in multiplayer games for 500g. It takes 5 iridium bars and a prismatic shard to make, but it's well worth it!

My wife and i got married at the same place. Nice

Cheers JJ!
If im the farm owner, my friend cant play if im Not online?
I am not sure about online play. But that is how it would work in couch co-op.
Is There any difference between playing splitscreen vrs locally with 2 switches? Is one preferable, or is it basically the same experience?
Playing splitscreen occasionaly has little lag spikes on switch. But we have never played locally with two switch so i cannot say. other than just the fact that you will no longer see each others screens i dont believe there is a difference.
Do I need another pair of joy pads or can we use one pair splitting them?
We are not sure. But I would suspect you need two full controllers.

Hello! You can play together on the same farm! We made a video about it to make it easy to figure out! th-cam.com/video/8wG4iyfWtfc/w-d-xo.html
My wife plays on a switch and I am on PS5. Can we still play local co-op?
Couch co-op involves playing online on console together. Local is a feature only available on the switch. I don’t know about online.

ps loving your videos, keep it going!!
I dont think this is possible. You may be able to make it work on pc using remote play instead of online.
But i wouldnt reccomend it.
If I buy this for ps5 can I play coop local?
Yes
Love ur channel and love coop games!
Glad to hear it!
if one of them is my girlfriend can other player date her too?
im not sure what you mean.

I do not believe so.
hihi jus wondering, can you see your friends mods is they have it on? or do you have to have your own mod
Not sure about this.
can we play online co op in mobile version ??
I am not sure.
Is it better co op on PC or switch? I don't want to buy online subscription, but I want to play with my wife

Maybe its saying how many additional players is supported and not the over all toatle. 🤷♂️
Its so crasy you play videos games to take a break from life/work... and then you play farm games... simulatin work lol
how?? we both using switch lite and only my account have Stardew valley, I still can't figure out how to get my guy into the co-op mode 😂

Can i do multiplayer on mobile? 😢😢 Really want to play this with others
I am not sure if or how that would work. Sorry.
@Maru where can i get it?
Can I marry the one I play with?
Great question! Yes you can, though it takes some pretty hefty materials! You can google what you need.
