Fijian earth oven, a method utilised by many Polynesian and Melanesian Pacific Islanders.
The Maori call it hangi; the Samoans call it 'umu'; in PNG it is known as 'mumu'... and all races have some form of underground oven because humans found a way to harness the heat of the sun to cook the bounty of earth.

The appreciation for our local food has made me realize how fortunate we are from the Pacific to have these traditional dishes available and are all organic
Imagine my surprise when the youtube algorithm recommended this video and I just clicked on it wondering who the hell was trying to review a fijian lovo now???!!! Just a few weeks ago during Fiji Fashion Week, an old memory crept in and i thought to myself, "I wonder whatever happened to Sandhya Nand-Wicker."
Kids these days wouldn't know your name but when we were growing up, yours was truly a household and iconic name. A Queen of the Fiji catwalk/runway. Wonderful to see youre still well and elegantly, gracefully aging, Sandhya. Loloma levu from the homeland.

Part 1 and Part 2 is where the real art is. Where the connection between now and then, the present and the past... harmony of both is what creates a future worth looking forward to...
I am worried and have just shared with my Husband that... people are watching this in drug induced zombie like states because of the FOOD.
People are hungry. 😢😢
People have also lost touch with the Land.
