Basic training for musicians to use the SQ4You App to mix their IEMs (In-Ear-Monitors) or foldbacks. This app works on all Allen and Heath SQ Mixers that have a wireless router connected to them.
Hi, sorry it took me ages to reply. The phone/ipad app is a remote control for the mixer, it changes settings on the mixer but it doesn't recieve any audio. The audio exits the desk in the usual fashion by the bus mixes, you just have control of what exits.
So each mix saves its selection of the channels. If anyone changes the selection of those channels it will change for everyone using that mix. Hope that helps.
Hi, sorry it took me ages to reply. The phone/ipad app is a remote control for the mixer, it changes settings on the mixer. The mixer is what saves the settings and mixes, not the phone app. I recommend if you are using multiple SQ desks or if you have multiple bands to save a scene for each band so that the bus mixes for each musician are saved.
Only 4 groups is not enough. You dumped “everything else” into a group and lost independent control of vocals unless you double click that group. Time consuming and cumbersome. I just put everything in one group and leave that open like a channel strip. Until the app drops connection completely and I just have to suffer through the set.
Yeah it all depends on how you use it and what instrument you are playing. As a drummer I tend to find that having 4 groups is enough and once I'm set, I only have to make small tweaks, if any, during a service. Last time I checked there was a maximum amount of channels you could add to a group but hopefully that has been removed.
In terms of connection, I've found it to be a bit dodgy as well but also check that you don't have too many people trying to connect (5G WIFI networks work the best I've found). There is a max of 8 devices and 7 SQ4You apps connected. That's theoretical and I've never got anywhere near that.
@@joelcreek9376 this very well could be our issue. We have 7-9 people trying to connect on a Sunday and that may be why some get bumped and can’t reconnect. Thanks for the tip!
Great job! Recently got an SQ-6 for church. This & the app works so much easier & better than the soundcraft si series.
Good one, Joel!
Nice video ! Greetings from Brasov city Romania !
Thanks Joel!
Can you monitor directly from you iPad or iPhone? I can SEE the audio, but cannot HEAR the audio.

can i use wieless earbuds on my android when i am using this?
Thank you!😊💗🍀👍
Can you store your settings for next time or do you start all over again?
The groups on the app are automaticly stored, but the faders(height) can be stored in a scene on the SQ series mixer
Hi, does the app save your set up or do you have to set up the app each tie you use it? thanks
