How did Brian Johnson do it all those years? He knows what he's doing, that's how. Specifically he knows how to sound that way without hurting himself. It's not necessary to hurt himself to make those sounds. He himself may not be able to articulate what he does, but he knows within himself how to do it when he performs.
Clifton Isaacs is there a way James Hetfield could have screamed the way he did live in 85, 86, 87 and 88 without doing the damage he did? Like, is it possible to scream that intensely and still sound that way, have the same vocal tone, same brutal grit, etc only WITHOUT hurting yourself? Or would you need to alter the way you sound a little when putting those techniques to use?

@MTR if ur trying to hear Brian Johnson then maybe but in terms of sounding like he used to he sounded raspy and powerful with acdc Even on a song like “rock or bust” it fit him perfectly
Brian’s been struggling for 20 years, I saw in an interview he sang this way because he didn’t think the band or he would be around more than a few years.
Brian got the AC/DC audition because the band heard his voice on a tv commercial for Hoover vacuum cleaner. He wasn't their first choice but Brain had a decent band previously called Geordie.
Not true. Bon knew him and saw Geordie, recommended him. He had the commercial at the same time as his audition for AC/DC, so went straight after and got the job.
Im sure I read somewhere that the band had seen him writhing on the floor on stage screaming and thought fuck this guy is good. Only later did they find out he had burst his appendix.
If u listen to back in black his vocals were so high and at times so clear and by the next album he lost his peak notes and by the time the song who made who came out he was all rasp and his high high register and mid register (normal singing) was gone
It´s stuupid to say he didn´t sing on Back in Black album but screamed. Did he scream th song "You shook me all night long"? . That´s pure bullshit, he sang it indeed with very much feel into it. Just listen to the last refrains where he pitch it up. He sang perfectly. It´s a different story about his voice today though.
@@stelmosfire11 😄 Neither does the rest of the world! As for Journey and Queen, worldwidely known, big difference! Can't help it if you've been living under a rock. 😏
How he did it? Same as death metal singers. It's a proper technique. Try to do death metal growls using your throat. Your vocal chords will fail after 2 seconds.

Clifton Isaacs Brian is the best!
Clifton Isaacs course so is Bon Scott!
because that is how brian sings. This guy doesnt have the rasp etc so hes forcing it so it strains him, brian isnt forcing it. That is how.
Brian Johnson knows how to use head voice with reinforced falsetto instead of blasting his chords out.
Jim is so awesome!!. How could you not want to hangout with him. He really would have you cryin with laughter in less than two minutes I swear.

He should've been chosen as the new lead singer for AC/DC. Axl Rose is pretty good, but Guns N Roses is his thing.
Brian in coming back 🤘
Udo Dirkschneider, ex-Accept, would be a way greater replacer while Brian was recobering...his voice matches perfectly with the AC/DC songs

Not that easy my friends.
Brain Johnson ❤️
Go back and watch some Geordie clips.....his voice was mint then too....house of the rising sun was good!
yeah Johnson should have kept that style for ACDC
Agreed his voice in Geordie was awesome!!!
AC/DC producer probably asked him to gargle with Drano and the rest is rock history.
This guy should try it out he could do it. It's different than being a copy cat. AC/DC needs someone to fill Brian's shoe's since he's no longer able.
Why is he no longer able? What's wrong with him
Brian’s been struggling for 20 years, I saw in an interview he sang this way because he didn’t think the band or he would be around more than a few years.
I mean he still gets it done, and at the end of the day that's what matters
Damn right it was a hit.

Actually you can hear traces of Johnson's high notes in his band Geordie. Of course, on AC/DC, it became a routine…
Dude has triple eye bags
i mean i bet this is pretty much how it went

It was Artie singing with Brian.
Jim refers to Mutt Lange. Brian Johnson does credit Mutt Lange for help.

Why does Jim Breuer remind me of Foster Brooks?
“Singer”😂Brian doesn’t sing, he screeches😉
