💕 Being 70ish, I grew up listening to Marvin Gaye’s original of this 👍 song. Teddy has really it done justice imho, making it his OWN style. Ironically, and unfortunately, SO many of these ‘older’, lyrical songs are MORE meaningful NOW with our world’s 🌎current state than back when 1st released. 👏 Interpretation by Teddy - his covers are ALL great.

As soon as I started hearing him sing, all I could think of was cops killing innocent ppl, mostly blacks & this song should represent the Black Lives Matter cause. Teddy may be white, but he gets it. Most of all tho is that it's a Marvin Gaye song & the lyrics & intention can be felt worldwide.

Beautiful cover. I remember the day Marvin Gaye was murdered. Sitting at a stop light and two men looked over and said "Marvin Gaye's dead." And I said "Don't say that! That's awful." Then tuned into KBLX (California) and learned it was true. I had to pull off the road and call my best friend from a pay phone - I was gutted/devastated. Thank you for such a lovely, respectful cover.
Hands down the best cover of this anthem I have heard in a long, long time. The tragedy of this song is that not enough has changed and we have not evolved as a species.

Teddy’s voice brings such a special quality to the song he sings that imho is better than the original. This is not to say that Marvin Gaye wasn’t King in music. He absolutely was. We miss him. But Teddy could be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him in this performance.
