However that does not take away from the fact that the Note makes amazing pictures as well.

It's a year older and 200 dollars more expensive. That should be the case. I use both iPhone and Galaxy. I have never seen Samsung being better than the iPhone that comes out in the same year.

This camera sensor in Pixel 4a is even older. It's from Pixel 3 (2018). Google hasn't changed the hardware.

This Note20 Ultra was the camera we were promised with the S20 Ultra. Just half a year too late. Lol. Samsung made much needed improvements and surprised me. Also, Pixel was shocking with how good it did night mode!

Note 20 seems consistent. On the iphone and pixel the shots sometimes completely mess up, but the shots on the note 20U were average at worse, amazing at best.

You can actually take ultrawide photos with the pixel 4a using photosphere, it requires quite a bit of patience and I recommend doing this in landscape mode, not portrait.
Damn. I'm an iPhone user and I'm definitely considering upgrading to Pixel next time I have to upgrade my phone.
I can just get a Canon R or another decent DSLR for the price. No way I'm paying more than $800 for any smartphone.
+ you wait a year or so and the phone is all of the sudden 30-40% cheaper. Definitely makes spending upwards of $700 a hard sell.

I undestand that Pixel got some decent cameras, but I still cant deal with the design. The body of the phone looks like a toy phone, even for the price, is ugly.

It always wins in blind tests. Two Samsung phones out of other 2019 phones won MKBHD's blind camera test last year even though he was clearly against Samsung's processing and never expected both the Note 10+ and S10e to win in the same test

Sticker price is high... but they also highly discount phone and give free stuff...note 7 free watch, note 8 free gear 360 camera (4k which i still love to use here and there) note 9 free akg headphones 🎧 with active noise cancelation and love to use till this day great battery life too, note 10 plus free galaxy buds, note 20 ultra buy one get one or 200$ for Samsung store use.... they have aggressive deals i never paid the full price on a note going back to the note 2.
Awesome blind test! Although I'd like to request having comparison photos or videos posted up for us to make our pics and write them first before watching the video for the reveal and commentary. You could host them on your site and that'd be like lowkey advertising your products on your site while you're at it.
I feel like it's easy to get biased with commentary of previous photos when we've yet to make a decision on the upcoming photos (i.e. this one is warmer, oh it's iPhone 11... that means if I want to support iPhone, go for the warmer picture, etc... and same mentality for Samsung, especially if it's a subconscious thing).

My husband recently bought the note and I happened to pick it up to take a photo as my iphone was out of battery. Needless to say but I ordered a note myself the following week. This was hard for me to do as I have been a devout iphone follower for a very long time but there is no comparison when it comes to picture quality and many other features: Samsung wins hands down.

In India actually the Samsung note 20 cost around 1030 dollars and the 11 pro cost 1430 dollars the prices r very much different in USA compared to those of here

Yes but in india we get exynos chipset instead of snapdragon 855+ which is worlds fater than the exynos chipset, and it not only helps the phone being fast but also helps in photography algorithm, so these result you see will only be available in U.S and iphone is the same all around the globe so my vote is for the iphone and that’s an year old device still manages to get 30-40% shots on top with these brand new devices.

These numbers are no Benchmark. If he would have taken more night mode pictures the Pixel wins.
For example he took three zoom photos where the Iphone is bad and the Note 20 always won, but he just took one macro photo where the Iphone won. Thats not fair.

@@dhruvakhera5011 that's only for the rear cameras , the selife cameras doesn't have night mode at all unless they came out with an update reason why every comparison I seen when comparing night mode selfies they always mention the iPhone 11 pro max doesn't have selfie night mode, he even said it in the video how the pixel 4a has night mode for selfie camera at $350 while the 11 pro doesn't. I had to check reddit after you said that and they said it doesn't have night mode for selfie cams.

I got 27 for the note, 19 for the iphone and 7 for the pixel, where the best phone gets 2 points, second best 1 and worst 0.
The Pixel 4 for $349 is AMAZING for the price! I chose it for 60% of these photos! Man, I didn’t realize how bad Apple was at low light 😱
Well, I would have to disagree because the iPhone’s night mode is pretty good especially adjusting the duration to 10-30 seconds.

The 4a's sensor seems to have weird white balance issues. Comparing my previous 3a to the 4a the 3a came out on top with alot of shots with difficult light. The 4a really stumbles when there is any sort of bright light like photos with tv light in the background. The note has definitely improved though from the first initial shots I've seen from it.
Is ti worth " downgrading " from a S20 Ultra to a pixel 4a or maybe the next pixel 5 ?? Very unhappy with the photo quality from my S20 ultra mostly because of the autofocus issue even after the last update... it still struggles to focus my black cat no matter if I'm indoor or outdoor...

-Spending extra $100 for the Apple Pencil won't hurt that much if she already has the money for a $1000 tablet
You should wait till Q4 2020 because in October they will announce the new iPad Pro with the 5nm A14X chip and possibly a better screen (mini LED)
I'll go for pixel. The outdoor shots are a matter of preference and you can easily edit those to your liking. But the night shots are something different.
My Note20 Ultra arrives tomorrow, I am a Pixel2 user, I am torn after this between the 4a and the Ultra! is it worth the price difference?! I like smaller phones and definitely Google is a huge plus, I use snapseed to edit my pictures all the time followed by Instagram so I edit my photos anyway but I wonder here what the Pixel 5 will be capable of doing! I shine with my night mode photos on my Pixel2 all the time!

It switches to night mode automatically. The result is not good in some situations.
Maybe the 3 companies should come together to make a device with their expertise.

Phillip Pugh i had the samsung s9, i like apple. Ios is flawless, and quality is better in apps and so on, for my use its perfect. Apple aint that expensive, the ultra with exynos is cost more and resalevalue is nothing like the iphones, if i sell my iphone after 2-3 years it costs me 100-150 dollar pr year.

I totally appreciate the way ua show the camera 📷 comparison is in top notch quality..👌 But i think first u should tell which processor u r using in ua phone is it a Snapdragon or Inferior Exynos chip bcoz the result u tell will be totally different in Snapdragon that from Exynos chip.

@@cah7925 I actually find the Exynos Samsung flagships to take the better pictures, the Snspdragons seem to over process the heck out of some shots causing oversaturation or tone mapping like someone went to town on it in photoshop 😅
Recap: Dayshots - all 3 phones have similar performance, except slightly different white-balance and color tone optimization. Nightshots - Pixel is king ♔, iPhone is ok, Ultra is garbage.
NOTE: Pixel would take 1st place if half photos were shot in night-light, but because *most* photos were shot in day-light, Pixel lost to personal preference of white-balance and color-tone. It's a *very important* note.

Samsung has made a ton of updates with the s20 ultra. Would love to see an update unbiased camera comparison with s20 ultra thrown in. Kinda like you did with Note 10 when s20 ultra came out

They are all similar. It was interesting watching the film and photographers take on the note 20. I have the note20 and even with the exynos processor it's a beast.
Everybody came for 11 pro vs note 20 ultra nobody expected anything from 4a but everybody's mind blew away when they saw night shots

Loved the video; 7pts for iPhone, 7pts for Note, and 5 pts for Pixel. I personally thought iPhone was gonna win easily over Note, but to me they scored same. Night shots were definitely Pixel's strength. Considering that all three produced quite good/compatible in most situations (except night), I'd go with Pixel for pictures, because I can adjust the color tone to warm it up, as long as details are not lost. However, the night shots, you just don't have the wriggle room to adjust image to suit your preference. It's either you get a shot to keep or you get a garbage shot for deletion. Anyway, for me Sammy Note was definitely a surprise for me, and I'll give Sammy kudos. I just always liked portrait images or pictures w/people from iPhones in general, and didn't like the ones from Sammy/LG. (Google is the king of night shots.)

It looks like film grain. not very sharp but it looks like paper texture instead of being sharp and clean.. I guess is one way to explain it.

I am struggling to find extremely big differences between Samsung Cameras under good light conditions without zoom the pictures look always awesome since the S6. The difference is that the competition now does also.
The labels are messed up at @5:15 - it says the Note 20 Ultra is the Pixel 4 and what should be the Pixel 4 is somehow marked as the S20 Ultra lol
