    Thanks again Samuel. Very courteous of Ricoh to do that. I loved the showroom, and it took me back to some of the enthusiast showrooms big Japanese tech companies used to have near Akihabara back in the 80's and 90's where you could interact with company reps, play with the latest gadgets and glimpse upcoming advancements. Damm, I love and miss Japan!

    Best 20min on TH-cam spent for a long time. Pure camera talks where nothing else matters in this sanctuary, perfectly isolated from the noisy fast-paced world, just like Ginza in essence. Kudos to Ricoh for maintaining such a nice place for camera guys, big thank you Samuel for this video

    Samuel, thank you so much for sharing this. This is a truly amazing video for fan of Pentax/Ricoh, especially for GRists. What an awesome tour and behind the scene of Ricoh Japan headquarters! Meeting the Product Manager talking about the design process of GR3 and seeing the IBIS structure and magnesium body was truly amazing. Thank you again Sam for this rare treat!!! • @ataraxia4526

    It's good to see that Ricoh takes their time to finalize their products.
    I work for one the leading, oldest and generally most trusted companies in the in the field of industrial electrics and the quality control is almost absent in this company. We don't even thoroughly test our products before we have sent dozens of them to our customers. And these products cost from 50k€ to 100k€ a piece. It's all just quick and dirty + retrofit kits afterwards.

  • @mistergiovanni7183
    @mistergiovanni7183 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very interesting but I think it was the opportunity to ask the people at Ricoh when they are going to solve the problem of dust on the sensor. You don't have to go to great lengths to check many users who have had to send the sensor several times to clean it. A very expensive camera to have this kind of problem.

    A shoot, i use to be a pentaxian and i had the k5 and all the stars lenses .

    I still have my Pentax spotmatic with the 55mm 1.8 Super Takumar lens.
    I had a Pentax 67 and a 6x7.
    I am 76 now and a bit weaker, so I regretfully sold them.
    My son uses a Pentax K1000 with the 50mm 1.7 lens.
    I am looking for a Ricoh digital
    I'm not sure which model to get now

      Size 10 Soles I’d say it’s good and for sure fun!! I can’t speak on Pentax for DSLR or their APS-C line. But their Q series is soooo FUN. Search “Pentax Q” and watch Mattias Burling you’ll love it

    Wonderful. Thanks. Please next time let us know so that we can give you some questions to ask. For example what about a telephoto lens for GRIII? Thank you great video and channel!

    • @SamuelStreetlife
      @SamuelStreetlife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I already did a interview with subscriber questions with another product manager from ricoh (video on my channel) but they cannot really know yet if a telephoto lens can be considered. They are not writing it off though. I guess it depens on the success of the GR.

  • @ayazayy

    Cool video. Definitely gonna visit on my next trip to Japan.
    Now all I'm waiting for is the price of GR III to drop a lil' (at least $50) so that I can get one before I arrive in Japan.

    • @SamuelStreetlife
      @SamuelStreetlife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you can save a few bucks by buying it in japan? You probably can get it tax free and that might save you more than 50 bucks.

    Can you tell them to change the USA official service center? they screwed up my ricoh and returned it with oil on the sensor and wouldn't fix it. It was such a hassle I had to email and complain to Ricoh USA before they sent me a refurbed one as a replacement for me after dealing 4-5 months without my GR. When i read forums its not just me complaining.

    • @SamuelStreetlife
      @SamuelStreetlife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sucks. I doubt Ricoh Japan can do anything about that. Hopefully they see this and talk to the customer servise in the US. As far as I know each country deals with it independently.

    ask those cheesy pentaxians where my anniversary edition k-1000 MIRRORLESS K-MOUNT FULL FRAME CAMERA is?!!??! UNFORTUNATELY FOR THEM my VAST collection of excellent pentax lenses are on a $2000 fuji body, but they would much rather be on a PENTAX!!!!
    honestly though... my rant continues... i would accept a Pentax APS-C mirrorless camera too. it would be nice if they made something for people such as myself who DESPISE MANUAL FOCUS / MODERN FEELING GLASS. how does anyone shoot street photography in auto? LOL
    pentax is wrong to suggest the evf is a fad - the hubris is reprehensible. my workflow in the edit suite has dropped by 80% since buying the Fuji. WYSIWYG is for real, pentax.
    just build a simple, rugged, retro, middle-market, k-1000-esque mirrorless camera and they will all come back... don't skimp on the evf and it will be another k mount classic.
