THIS is why your bed and couch have ten million pillows on them that you have to remove every night and put back every morning Women are biologically programmed to think that spending $5000 at a store is considered a bargain because "it's on sale"
Did some online shopping last night as I'm running out of time and what do you know half the things in the checkout cart were for me cuz they were such a deal and since they're going to deliver the stuff anyway I saved myself another shopping trip.. and I used my own wine at home so I saved money there...Um what else. Oh and I'm pretty sure I only spent the money on myself that I would have spent on gas for the car to go to multiple shopping areas.. So Ca-ching saving money there
I just Zelle everyone $100 and end it all. No card , no stamps and zero shipping nor figuring out what they need this year. Got tired of it all over 15 years ago, now. Nah... I need nothing nor care to shop endlessly for everything needing returned. Here is some cash and screw off.
I am right there with you! Kids aren’t tagging along because (you know…you are supposed to be getting gifts for them) so it is the perfect opportunity to try on that skirt you actually have a chance to look at.
That seems like fun to be able to shop for yourself like that during Christmas shopping. I don't get to do that, but I've my first christmas shirt now someone donated to Goodwill. Stay at home moms like me really appreciate when people can donate good clothes at Goodwill.
Oh my god thank you for doing this video. So relatable. I was feeling so guilty that on Black Friday and Cyber Monday I bought stuff for me. Like I want to get sales for me and not pay full price but for others gifts I don’t mind paying full price. I also find stuff I like for myself along the way. Great video!! So happy I’m not alone in this lol
I don't end up buying the things for myself, but I just add them to my Christmas list. 😂 I fully understand "laying the groundwork," I say it as "seeing all my options" first.
Brilliant. This is me at Costco. I can't go in for one thing. I go in for one thing and I exit with a full cart. Your family is amazing. Merry Christmas.
Ok so I thought I’d give my bath and body works candles as gifts but I love the scent so much I want to keep all 3…I’ve talked myself into it bc it was a seasonal scent I can’t get until next year 😂 😂 TREAT YOSELF
Mine is kind of similar, "£10 for mum, £50 decoration for the bearded dragon enclosure decoration" "£10 for dad, new cat tree for the spoiled kitty" I've got to the point where there is so much I need as everything gets spent on my animals that I've quit even putting myself as a priority. Think people have gotten used to the fact their gifts will be nowhere near as good as what my feline princess or reptiles will have gotten. 😊
I just got back from Christmas shopping and also spent most part with prior research and in the end got the presents (and of course found tons of stuff for myself on the way there :D so totally relatable xD many greetings from Germany
We can't help it! The stores have stuff you may not see again. It's the same w even dog toys. The variety n pricing are amazing during the holidays. And that's why it's Ramen noodles in January.
My daughter, who rarely goes shopping, has been buying things for herself while shopping for gifts for others this year. I love that she did that because she seldom thinks about herself and is ALWAYS giving her time and attention to others. And Kim I totally agree with your shopping strategy as I do the same thing. i love Christmas shopping for the sights, sounds, smells, treats and most of all whenever I get that special moment when I find the absolute perfect idea for a gift for someone and actually find it in a store somewhere. Yes, I said STORE. I love seeing, feeling and examining the item before I buy it, so I am not into internet convenience shopping. Besides, you sometimes see unique or fun items while browsing and sometimes have a chat with a human, so there is the social aspect to consider enjoying.
My husband and I both go together a few times and this year we also both shopped online for each other. Oh, and I spent about 6-8 hours one day messaging him, our daughters and my parents, and ordering for other people online. Lol! One day we may get this done in September or October. 🤣😂🤣 Oh, and we're doing the White Elephant game this year for the family get together. It made shopping so much easier. We're still getting for kids, our own parents and grandparents but everyone is covered with the White Elephant game and it's fun! 😁😊 (We have a big extended family so this really helps!)
Love your content! I'm new sub & I laugh my ass off w/every video! Don't know how I got this in my algorithm, but no regerts.😉😁 Thanks ladies for the much needed laffs & stress reliever!! This is so true for me & my bff. We would get up & head out @ 4am on Black Friday every year, sometimes (OK.. almost always) still a bit buzzing from 🍷Thanksgiving festivities🍸. We'd get our coffee & go camp out & wait for Kohl's to open. Always 1st on the list for the kiddos deals on clothes. One year as we're sitting in the warm car observing, drinking out piping hot beverages, contemplating the lines of 🥶moronsicles🥶(were they even still a bit buzzed as well?🤷🏼♀️) wrap around the building in the bone-chilling cold (I failed to mention we're in Northern Illinois, by the Wisconsin border...so very cold!) 🙋🏼♀️"OH! Hey Kyem!"😉😆, we looked at each other & said... "Why in the hell do we even put ourselves through this madness every year when we only come back home, after battling the war zones of lines of tryptophan induced & /or alcohol detoxing humans, with only STUFF FOR OURSELVES?! Fun fact... we were BOTH stay-at-home moms!! We could go shopping in leisure any day of the week🛍️ & did 24/7 & 365?!🤷🏼♀️😂 Ahhh.. Capitalism AND.... Alcohol, the cause & the cure of, all of life's problems!🥂🤑🤪😆🤣😂🤦🏼♀️ We stopped doing it after that giant revelation (or sobriety brought on by a copious amount of strong coffee) ... And stayed home & decorated for Christmas🎄instead.... Like most normal people. I don't miss that chaos & lack of sleep one iota. ✨🎇🥂Have a blessed 2023 to you & yours🍾🎆✨ Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the lmao's! Love you ladies!😘❤️❤️ I'm greatful for you...Peace🕊️ P. S. I forgot this tidbit... That was the same year when we (same bff) went to hit the Dec 26th AFTER Xmas sales & I was sooo good 🌟all day!!🌟 Until after a late lunch at a Mexican restaurant, where margs🍹are obviously mandatory🍹... 2 drink minimum (OKAY!! I'm lying, but it helps us feel as tho we don't have to start any "meetings" where we only say our 1st names😉). So being the over-achievers that we were.. a large pitcher it was! Extra toppers of Patron too...naturally.. for extra credit🌟🤗🎓🎓🤗🌟. Guess who returns home w/an 8 week old thousand dollar dachshund puppy & another few hundo in "necessities" (crystal collar, her wee teddy bear, & a cozy warm faux-fur coat, ample treats, food, "princess" bowls, a crate (never used, she slept w/mommy from night 1 & for the rest of her days❤️🐶🤷🏼♀️) for said fur baby that day? 💁🏼♀️😍🐕💓💓💓. Yep. Me.🥴 Best impulse buy EEVVVERR!! And best pupper EVER! Worth it all!!💖Miss her too much💖
I ended up keeping the gift that I bought for my family gift exchange-I couldn't resist! Don't they say that the best gift is the one that you'd buy for yourself? :)
Glad to know I'm not the only one that does this! Especially Black Friday, I swear 90% of what I get ends up being for me lol. But I do eventually get the presents (not gift cards) for everyone else, too.
I especially loved the vegan leather jumpsuit. Completely impractical for those of us with no particular place to go, but you did look stunning in it!! And I think that it's not unusual to shop for yourself at the Black Friday sales. So go for it! And revel in all that research you accomplished!
I can’t stand shopping and am a minimalist at heart. What we do is buy one gift for a “stealing game” and just buy a few gifts for our two adult kids (mostly useful stuff and money towards experiences and education (one is still in uni) and candy for stockings. That’s it.
This is my most memorable gift scenario. I was sick and wasn't able to attend my cousins wedding. I contacted her to say I still want to give them a gift. She knew I was going through a tough time and money was also tight. So she told me to take the money I intended to gift them and pamper myself. That it would mean more to her to get a picture of me afterwards as a gift. It was the sweetest thing and allowed me to take care of myself in a way I normally wouldn't have. True gifts aren't always giving someone something you purchase for them!
Sooooo true! I actually shop through the whole year and buy that thing that I would think is perfect for so&so and I have a special Christmas box that I put all those pre-bought gifts in, so I know where to find them when it is Christmas. But when I do "shop" for presents - yah, most if not all the gifts are for me. Cuz I get Christmas money and gotta spend that - So, now my kids get Christmas money too - so they can have fun shopping. Can't take away their fun, can we?
This is totally me. I now have 3.5 days to buy gifts for 4 other people and still stuck on what to buy. It doesn't help that the only items my daughter asked for was poutine and a vacation to Scotland, she's 11 😂
Look for poutine or Scotland related things! 😂. My 15 year old brother recently got into building computers. He keeps talking about Linux (whatever that is) so I looked it up on Amazon and found a book of shortcuts or something. The reviews are good, so hopefully he'll enjoy it.
A book of coupons for Poutine For Dinner! Maybe a really-good-quality Scotland travel poster? What is it that so excites/intrigues her about Scotland? Could you riff on that?

Thankfully, my husband's side of the family started doing secret Santa a few years ago. The children far outnumber the adults, at this point, and it got to be too much to buy each person a gift. My side has no children, so we still buy for everyone. It's still several hundred dollars every Christmas just for the people we are buying for. Thankfully, I'm all done preparing for Christmas, as of this morning. 🥰
Goes out Christmas Shopping for my loved ones, but end up impulsively buying gifts for myself instead: Talk about immensely relatable! 😂🤣
Glad I'm not the only one

😂😂😂 this is so me !!
I just Zelle everyone $100 and end it all. No card , no stamps and zero shipping nor figuring out what they need this year. Got tired of it all over 15 years ago, now. Nah... I need nothing nor care to shop endlessly for everything needing returned. Here is some cash and screw off.
The kick after the "classic vegan jumpsuit" was too funny!!
I feel so SEEN. My husband needs to see that it's not just me. 😂😂😂
You are definitely not alone!
So me!!
I know right!
Literally everything I bought on Black Friday was for myself. 😂
I am right there with you! Kids aren’t tagging along because (you know…you are supposed to be getting gifts for them) so it is the perfect opportunity to try on that skirt you actually have a chance to look at.
Now that I have a cute dress I'm better suited to do actual shopping 😂
You can never have too many cozy blankets is my motto too. 😘
100% correct!
Saaame!!! ❤️❤️❤️🛏️
As someone whose bed is currently subsumed by a pile of blankets… I might be hitting peak blanket. And it’s a hard place to be.
That seems like fun to be able to shop for yourself like that during Christmas shopping.
I don't get to do that, but I've my first christmas shirt now someone donated to Goodwill. Stay at home moms like me really appreciate when people can donate good clothes at Goodwill.
So can relate - goodwill is great!!
You could order things online and have everything delivered to your house for other people, after you treat yourself. I love this concept!❤
I don't end up buying the things for myself, but I just add them to my Christmas list. 😂 I fully understand "laying the groundwork," I say it as "seeing all my options" first.
You got me at cozy blankets. I buy so many throw blankets. It just makes a room more homey.
Girl, This is so me. So much so that I put myself in as a line item in my Christmas budget.
Hmm, "research", I'll have to remember that one! 🤣
Research is very important 😁
😂 So relatable. Thanks for helping us laugh at ourselves.
"Now that I've done the research"....totally using that line!
So so true, Tell it Sister! Lol
Brilliant. This is me at Costco. I can't go in for one thing. I go in for one thing and I exit with a full cart. Your family is amazing. Merry Christmas.
Thank you so much for putting this out there! It’s not only you and it’s not only me!! No more guilt!
“Such a giver…” cracked me up! 🥰
You're not alone!!
This is great and truthfully a good example for parents to take care of themselves too ❤
That red dress is super cute! I hope you really did buy it for yourself.
This is exactly right. 😂
Ok so I thought I’d give my bath and body works candles as gifts but I love the scent so much I want to keep all 3…I’ve talked myself into it bc it was a seasonal scent I can’t get until next year 😂

Completely relatable!! I have never Christmas shopped without buying a thing (or 2) for myself!😂
I have never related more! 😂🎄❤️
I just got back from Christmas shopping and also spent most part with prior research and in the end got the presents (and of course found tons of stuff for myself on the way there :D so totally relatable xD many greetings from Germany
Thanks for being here with us!
I was cheering for you 2 on the amazing race last season. I was jumping on the couch when I saw you 2 during the introduction.
Me at Target yesterday. You’ve summed me up exactly. 😂 Headed back for gift cards.
So true!! I hope you guys have a very merry Christmas! 🎁🎄 ❤️
Yes, this is all truth :) Buying gifts for yourself is an important part of the Holiday season!
I love the justification and explanation at the end. “Researched everything”
Love the fashion montage! ❤
same...even when online shopping lol
OMG that is SOOOOOOO me!!! haha "research"

0:43 but it IS super cute!
Kim: “it’s me hi, I’m the problem it’s me!”
HA absolutely😂😂😂 I found a swiftie😅

It’s like you’re me. We are one with the shopping force. 😅❤
you videos are so accurate and funny!
Merry Christmas
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Agreed
One for you one for me, that's the family policy.
It's all of us, not just you.
Wow! It feels sooo liberating to say that
The kick in the jumpsuit...🤣🤣
This is so true! 😂
Yes yes yes! 🤗
This is me! 😂😂😂
Glad it's not just me!
That was amazing!
100% me!!! I have scored four tops, satin pillowcases and new placemats I between shopping for my guys!
So true, this is exactly what happens to me
I love all of your outfits, Kim! So beautiful!
Exactly! Gotta research
You definitely should have that jumpsuit! It looked stunning!
Hilarious, and so true! BTW, you look amazing in this video Kim! On point. Killin it!
I hope we get a Christmas Jammies this year, my daughter was bummed their was not one last year.
Would have posted it already.
My kind of Christmas shopping... especially the stopping for a glass of wine! 😉
Glad to know I'm not the only one that does this! Especially Black Friday, I swear 90% of what I get ends up being for me lol. But I do eventually get the presents (not gift cards) for everyone else, too.
You are so not alone in this Kim! Loved this video. Merey Christmas to you and your family🎄
How does she know me so very well😂😂😂
So True Pam! 😂😆👍❤️
Also my Dad does this during the year so everyone else is like: What does Dad need? I mean he already bought stuff he needed. 🤔🤷😉
I especially loved the vegan leather jumpsuit. Completely impractical for those of us with no particular place to go, but you did look stunning in it!! And I think that it's not unusual to shop for yourself at the Black Friday sales. So go for it! And revel in all that research you accomplished!
I do the same thing! Thank goodness it’s not just me! Gotta take of our too!💞💞
Love the video! (And the music!) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!
Yep! Buy your own gifts and wrap them! Takes the pressure off your loved ones!
Gift cards!! Maybe the best way to go...
Same Kim. Merry Christmas. Let's face it if we don't get it ourselves our gifts suck lol
I hear you! You are not alone. Self gifting is highest around Black Friday!
I'm such a giver 😂
Yes. Yes it is.
"Is this for mom or for me?"😆🤣
I can’t stand shopping and am a minimalist at heart. What we do is buy one gift for a “stealing game” and just buy a few gifts for our two adult kids (mostly useful stuff and money towards experiences and education (one is still in uni) and candy for stockings. That’s it.
That dress is perfect on you!!! I hope we see it again. Love love love!!!
This is my most memorable gift scenario. I was sick and wasn't able to attend my cousins wedding. I contacted her to say I still want to give them a gift. This is so me every year lol!
That’s why I switched to buying online 😂
We did all the gift shopping within 3 hours yesterday. My wallet is definitely a lot lighter now
She is totally right about the blankets!
Sooooo true! I actually shop through the whole year and buy that thing that I would think is perfect for so&so and I have a special Christmas box that I put all those pre-bought gifts in, so I know where to find them when it is Christmas. Oh dear I feel so called out🎄🤣😂
Same! Every year. Lol
🤣😂 I legit bought cookbooks as Xmas gifts for myself and my husband including Snoop.
You gotta take care of yourself first before you can take care of everyone else, right? 😊
Self-care is very important ☺
Yes. Black Friday was mostly for me. I’ve also bought more for myself this year. I think I’m stress shopping.
Totally me!! Glad I'm not the only one.. For real we all need to take our Christmas $ and just get ourselves what we really want lol
Yeah, I vote for just buying gifts for ourselves & wrapping them up.
I buy and wrap my own presents... "oh wow JUST WHAT I WANTED!" hehe
Christmas reconnaissance shopping!
I have a gift all wrapped for myself from myself. Bought it before Thanksgiving. Lolol
That diamond though....😍
You are son not alone. This is totally me, my mom, my sister, my cousin and now my 15 year old daughter.
I'm in a stage of life where things are too financially tight for me to do this. I've been super disciplined for the last 8 years, because I've had to be. Prior to that... this was TOTALLY me.
Also, I'm a huge proponent of gift cards... but I make sure it is for their favorite place to shop. The guys in my life??... Bass Pro or Harley Davidson. The women in my life??... a fancy restaurant, a spa or I buy them Pandora Jewelry. My younger brother??... music or experiences... such as amusement park season passes. This is how I roll when it's too busy to do anything else.
Also, the kiddos in my life... toys and books or a Gamestop gift card so they can choose a game. They love it all.
