    Toby, could you do a Hanse 588 review. Often referred to as a mini-superyacht, I'd love to know how it handles from the perspective of either a small crew (a couple) or single-handed. A thorough walk-through would be appreciated, with reference to comparisons with the Hanse 575 in terms of handling, interior space and basic layout options, practicality, and suitability for a small family. Thank you! I enjoy watching your reviews! You rock!!!

    Hanse should take a look at the owner's cabin on the Beneteau Oceanis 55 - large windows.
    As a matter of fact, large windows everywhere.
    the great length galley in the Hanse is fantastic and the seat at the navigator's desk is a dream.
    the cool wine box should really be a top loading freezer.

    Wow it has tons of room in the salon, kitchen etc and head room. Room like in a Cat.
    That self tacking jib is nice too.
    Yes love the high ceiling to make you feel you are not cramped in a cabin.
    Very nice jobs guys and girls.

    They should have raised the sole to give more storage in the bilges and make it easier for people by putting grabrails on the roof that people can reach

    I like like like this one... wonderful job of putting together a fabulous sailboat.. when does the dollar raffle start?? LOL I liked the bath and I liked the nav station with chart table.. loved the set up on top.. is that main an inferling mast?? You had two on board during the sailing, but it looks like one could single handed sail it as well, is that true or not?? Very impressed with this boat... did it have a clothes washer and dryer as well?

    Toby,.....watched many reviews by you and was wondering what boat YOU like. Loved your review of grand solei and thought I would ask you what you liked. I thought the lc 52 was a fantastic boat. There's just so many and it's very hard to tell which boats are really built well, easy to sell, offered the best standard features etc. etc. so it's really very confusing but I do like the height of this boat because it does offer A lot of space and four it's starting price it's pretty hard to beat. I understand the grand lc 52 Will cost about 700 K by the time it's all decked out. Any thoughts you can share?

    At a broad reach with that list I wonder how comfortable your family would really be in the accommodation spaces, unless the entire cabin spaces were gimballed.. LOL But nice video. I enjoyed it. Very easy systems to use. - Capt. John Banister, AMS - Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

      +Suenos Azules listing/heeling on a broad reach should be minimal. I think you mean when the yacht sails in close haul position, the heeling will be massive.

    Can someone please give the interior designer their french curve set back because everything in the salon is flat and usually at a right angle. I'm not sure if they did it for ease of manufacturing or because flat surfaces look sleek and modern.

    Well you wouldn't need the step ladder. You could remove the step ladder and use that space to keep other stuff. Like doughnuts maybe or extra soap for when it runs out in the bathrooms.

    57' ... designed for a couple... - I will never understand it

      @fuckingSickOfCreepyG 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How so?

    • @orlovsskibet
      @orlovsskibet 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TCO, environmental impact and boathandling. Can't count the number of times, a couple in very big boats have involved the whole harbour in their attempt to control their big boat in small places.
      Of course each to their own - I just don't get it.
      Probably my fault I assume.

    • @fuckingSickOfCreepyG
      @fuckingSickOfCreepyG 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've single-handed boats that size. If you live aboard or if you use it with a crew only sporadically, then it makes all the sense. Especially a boat like this which is a cruiser first and foremost.
      The environmental impact of a sailboat is not large, provided you don't motor too much. Almost any car will have a larger impact.
      Also this is a modern boat, part of the "designed to be handled by a couple" is that you don't need to involve the whole harbour to control it in small places. It will definitely have a bow thruster at this size (this model has a retractable one I believe). I'd hope for the option of a complete docking system as well at nearly 60 ft.
      Having said that, the "review" doesn't go at all into these issues which is a pity. It was more like an interior design tour which is ok, but not enough. Glad about the height though, not many boats are designed for tall people.

    • @orlovsskibet
      @orlovsskibet 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes of course, some people can handle it, I am just seeing a lot who can't.
      Again it is individual, and a 57' boat for the two of us, would never be for me :-) Hence I don't get it :-) That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it.

    • @fuckingSickOfCreepyG
      @fuckingSickOfCreepyG 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They couldn't handle a boat that rotates and moves sideways with a joystick? These days you can handle a boat like it was a toy (provided it's equipped for that). In the review I haven't seen if that's the case, though.
      I found a bit disappointing that it was limited to: "tacks without touching any sheets" (obvious for anyone who has seen a Hanse), "sails fine" (no actual performance data or specs), "the interior is nice" (well, it's a big boat).
      The fact that it's designed to be sailed short-handed is pretty much a given, and the only reason to buy a modern cruiser this size since otherwise an older model will be much better value. Looking at that hull and how stern heavy it is, the boat must slam quite a bit which combined with the retractable bow thruster... I'd be surprised if this isn't problematic and I'd like to know how did Hanse solve that.
      It seems to me like there are almost no quality reviews of sailboats, like a surveyor would do even if leaving aside wear and tear issues. I'd do much better than this to be honest. But then again probably they cannot go wild in their reviews since they get boats from dealers/manufacturers rather than on the market for truly independent review.
