Chloe did change alot, she went through so much, I miss the cute spunky and intrepid reporter we had in the early seasons too, the writers put Chloe through a lot of pain and frustration as seasons went on, her deep and strong love for Clark, Lionel blackmailing her, her mother, Lex blackmailing her, her meteor powers that almost killed her, Braniac, Doomsday, then Watchtower, it's sad how she changed, but at the same time very good to see her being so important to Clark and the whole héroes and seeing her become so strong, still she didn't smile as she did anymore, and I didn't like how they finished her charácter, I think they faded her too much just to bring background characters such as Lois and Tess to the front, she was perfect as Watchtower, and I didn't think she was wasting her life doing that job, she had a purpose, and the writers just wasted her.
You summed up how most of us felt about Chloe. They really killed her happiness from the 6th season onwards. She probably experienced the most pain out of any other character
I'm so sad that this is the end of a great character. This was like her last speech, explaining her whole emotions throughout this season. The writers totally 360ed her character, shes so reserved, secretive and sad now. I love how Chloe kicks ass through watchtower but I miss the cute, spunky reporter from Smallville. I wish the writers could of given her a better write off, one with a little dignity and not like her heart broke
A great comment from this clip. "Virtual reality bites". Regarding not only that human emotions can not be satisfyed online but also as "bites" is a measurement used everywhere in the online sphere.
@abbyinertia I agree it's just sad to have watched the show for so long, it's like you grew up with the character and now she's so different. But in this current season, with her new relationship I think she's startng to think more of herself and getting back to the old Chloe. Not completely but there is definitely some spunk in her
I wanted a super hug... lol Ah well ^^ I still think Chloe needs to tell Clark lots of other stuff she's done... but this was a good start... :) I love Chloe and Clark's relationship
Would you please post the scenes between Martha Kent and Tess Mercer at the wine cellar, and the parts where Tess was being interrogated. Hexzek didn't bother with either of those storyline segments when he posted his files for HOSTAGE last night - probably because they weren't Clark-Lois material. He and others tend to forget the show has other primary characters that we love to watch.
this is such an underrated and beautiful scene between these two.

I'm glad that after being called out by Tess, Chloe apologized and recognized how cold and isolated she had become.
