  • Launched at COP28 in Dubai, BOLDER is the latest addition to the #BOLDcwr project, dedicated to supporting food and nutrition security across Africa.
Generously funded by the Norwegian Government with USD 22.4 million until 2030, BOLDER will collaborate with partners in Benin, Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda to enhance the conservation, production, and consumption of neglected and underutilized species (NUS) or oportunity crops.
These crops, including millets, grasspea, Bambara groundnut, and traditional African leafy vegetables, are nutritious, robust, environment-friendly, and vital for local communities. NUS help reduce pests and diseases in farming systems, ensure reliable harvests even in unpredictable climates, increase soil fertility, prevent erosion, and suppress weed growth.
Aligned with the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils #VACS movement, BOLDER promotes diverse, nutritious, and climate-resilient crops for more sustainable and healthy food systems.
