would love to see some information or functionality on how the darkness effect can be modified for a character or creature that can see through darkness both magical and nonmagical, such as a warlock with the Devil's Sight eldritch invocation.

I've been using it since 2017, and I'm still learning new things, welcome to the club :>

I've got a player with a Bullseye Lantern, which projects light into a narrow cone. Any option to shape lighting effects?

@Nick Ritchie, At this time there is no method I know of that you can use to "shape" the effect of the light, so bullseye and other forms of lanterns are not really represented that well :(

... wouldn't it be more practical to build those lighting devices w/the effect coding as a new item that the players can pull in? (or swap out for their non-coded items of the same name) I assume it would be the same sequence almost instead of building them in the actions tab like you did?

That is also an option, but the items will still need an "action" of sorts in the actions tab for the effects to become active, unless your using an effects plugin that handles that for you when an item is used.

Does a PC with a Lantern effect other players with night vision, etc?

@TXCBOY 36, yes. Anytime there's light that comes into play, it'll affect how any form of vision works, thought D&D classifies night vision as darkvision, so it would follow the same rules that apply to darkvision.
