Spent the first 10 years of my life up until 86' here. Went to the school(Arnco Sargent Elementary) that was behind you at the very beginning of the video. Crushing poverty. Very nostalgic for me. Thank you for the video.

Still living in Arnco myself. (Right down the road from Sargent) all of these old factories you see, most were cotton mills. People here don't have a lot, but it's a lot nicer than it looks. Cheap living. There's builders in talks to buy out the mill villages to build new houses. My grandfather worked in the mill here from the 30s until it closed. Most people here are friendly. I grew up here, my parents and sister still live here and I am currently raising my daughter with my wife here. If you're even back here, and need more info about this area, I've been here 30 years and would love to tell y'all anything you wanna know.

Those old factory buildings at the beginning are really interesting to look at, love them. The "dead" trees give the area a creepy look. Kudzu is good to eat🙂 Thank you!

Really? I didn’t even know you could eat kudzu….. if these grocery prices keep going up, we might have to try it out 🤣

@@Crazytraveladdicts I forage for the young leaves, shade-dry and powder them to add to green juice. They can also be cooked. Nutritious stuff and free!😁

Definitely!!! I grew up in a small town where all we had was a gas station. We had to drive about 15 min. to a bigger town with stores and restaurants

The stone building with no roof burned down.It was the original cotton mill.
The town housed workers and was on the railroad to ship out the product.

At the 13:06 mark where you said the house fell in well that was the old PO that was operational until early 1980's

Lots of these unincorporated communities in Georgia
No mayor or board. Taxes fall under closest town. Which are very reasonable
